This build started back in May 2023, with an empty wall cavity where an old, undersized tank used to sit. We designed and fabricated a custom acrylic aquarium to take over the whole footprint — framed, leveled, and sealed to fit the space exactly.
Underneath: a custom steel stand and full sump/filtration system, plumbed and wired before any of it disappeared behind cabinetry. Cabinetry work was handled by G&C, run by my friend Giulio Garino, to make sure the finish matched the quality of everything underneath it.
Then came the slow part — dry rock, cloudy water, weeks of cycling — before it ever looked like a reef.
That was over two years ago now. It's still being maintained on the same schedule, by the same team, today.
This is the kind of project Reef Gardens takes on: full-scope builds, not just tanks — structural work, plumbing, electrical, aquascaping, and the ongoing care after. No rotating techs, no handoffs between install and service. You work with the same people who built your system, for as long as you own it.
