🍎🍂🍩 Welcome to Rescue, Apple, C***r & Donut!
Three hours north, in the small town of Holbrook, Arizona, sits a tiny shelter with an enormous responsibility. With limited kennels and dogs arriving from communities hours away, they do everything they can with what little they have.
That’s where we met five terrified puppies.
Their owner had become overwhelmed caring for an entire litter. Mama is safe, staying with her owner, and will be spayed. But her babies desperately needed help.
Nothing could have prepared us for their condition. Their fur was severely matted with dried f***s, dirt, and debris. Burrs and thorns were tangled so deeply that some were painfully digging into their skin. The smell was overwhelming, but the discomfort these babies had endured was heartbreaking.
And then came the beautiful part. ❤️
Warm baths, careful haircuts, and painstakingly removing thorns with tweezers. Slowly, those petrified little puppies began to relax. For the first time in who knows how long, they could simply rest comfortably.
But it took a village.
Dawgz Wagz and Tailz stepped up to welcome two of the five puppies. Best Friends Animal Hospital helped ensure they received the medical attention they needed. And a wonderful groomer provided a safe, sanitized space to begin their transformation.
Five little lives. Multiple organizations. One shared mission.
Because rescue isn’t about who gets the credit. It’s about the lives we change when we work together.
