Vader’s retirement 💔
I knew this day would eventually come, but I don’t think I realized just how hard it would be until it was actually here.
Vader wasn’t just one of my first Ragdolls. He was the one who made me fall completely in love with this breed. Before Rugged Ragdolls became what it is today, before all the litters, babies, plans and dreams, there was Vader.
He’s always been my huge, happy, sweet boy. And when I say huge, I mean HUGE. 😂 He’s the biggest lover with the sweetest personality and just genuinely loves everyone. He’s everything I fell in love with about Ragdolls in the first place.
Over the years, he’s given me so many beautiful babies and helped build a huge part of what Rugged Ragdolls is today. But to me, he’s always been so much more than that.
He was my beginning.
And now that it’s actually time to let him go, it honestly feels like I’m giving away a piece of myself. 💔
I know this is what I signed up for. I know my breeding cats eventually have to retire, and I know Vader deserves to spend his retirement being someone’s ridiculously spoiled, oversized baby. But knowing all of that doesn’t make saying goodbye to him any easier.
I’m going to miss his giant face. I’m going to miss his sweet, happy personality. I’m going to miss simply having my Vader here.
There will never be another first. No matter how much Rugged Ragdolls grows or how many beautiful cats come after him, there will never be another cat who holds the same place in my heart or in the story of how all of this began.
He’s the boy who made me fall in love with Ragdolls and helped turn that love into something that became such a huge part of my life.
I hope his new family knows just how special the boy I’m trusting them with really is, because I’m not just sending them one of my retired Ragdolls. I’m sending them a little piece of my heart. ❤️
Happy retirement, my sweet Vader. You deserve to spend the rest of your life being loved and spoiled beyond belief.
I’m just really going to miss you, big guy. 💔
