What a GREAT USCSS trial we had Sunday at Martin Anderson Senior Center.
We had a huge turnout, with competitors coming from all over Florida, including several brand-new competitors joining us for the first time.
We were thrilled to hand out over 30 new title ribbons! Congratulations to everyone on all your hard work and accomplishments!
A huge thank you to Natalie Duberow and Sharon Everson for putting together some intriguing and challenging searches that really made our dogs work to source those hides.
Big Thank-you to all of the volunteers that make it run so smoothly.
These are some of the photos we took, but if anyone else has photos they’d like to share, or wants to add their brags, please do! We’d love to see them!
Congratulations to everyone, and thank you for making it such a fantastic USCSS trial.
Some of us did find other things to do in between runs as you can see in the photos.
Next Trial Sunday September 27th premium will be out soon.

Practical Tricks starting September 8th for 7 weeks $100

A fun and engaging class designed to teach dogs practical household skills while building confidence, focus, and teamwork with their owners.

This class introduces useful everyday behaviors and entertaining tricks that can enhance both your dog’s quality of life and the harmony of your household. Dogs will learn practical tasks such as opening doors, bringing in the mail, picking up dishes after feeding time, retrieving items, and other helpful household behaviors.

The class focuses on easy-to-teach skills that require minimal equipment and can be practiced in everyday life. Along the way, dogs will develop problem-solving abilities, confidence, impulse control, and stronger communication with their handlers.
Whether your goal is to have a more helpful companion, strengthen your bond with your dog, or simply enjoy learning together, this class provides a positive and rewarding experience for both dogs and their people.

Pawsome Manners starting 1pm September 8th for 7 weeks $100

The focus of the class is on practical everyday manners and reliable foundational behaviors.

This class is ideal for dogs over a 1 year old who are still developing maturity and need continued guidance and reinforcement of their basic training. It is also a wonderful opportunity for dogs that have come from shelters to review and build skills they may not have previously learned or may have lost during times of transition and change.

Pawsome Manners is equally beneficial for senior dogs and their handlers. Special attention is given to safety, mobility, balance, and household awareness, helping dogs learn not to get underfoot and teaching important skills such as “Leave It” for dropped medications or unsafe items.
Additional skills may be introduced based on the needs of the dogs and handlers in class. The overall goal of Pawsome Manners is to create a safer, more enjoyable, and successful life together by building communication, confidence, and trust between dogs and their people.

(This class is for dogs over a 1 year that have had little previous training and/or need extra help.)

ONE SPOT JUST OPENED

A change in work schedule means one spot has opened up for our upcoming workshop — and this is not a workshop you’ll want to miss.

We’re taking a different approach this time.

Instead of asking, “How do I teach my dog this?” we’re going to ask:

“Who is the dog standing in front of me?”

Every dog has a different way of processing information, solving problems, handling mistakes, and learning. The better you understand your individual dog, the better you can train them.

You’ll learn how to read your dog differently, identify their cognitive profile, recognize what their behavior is actually telling you, and build training plans around your dog rather than forcing your dog into someone else’s training system.

And then we take it off the whiteboard and into real training.

One spot. One dog. One opportunity to join us.

Message us if you want it.

This promises to be a fun event, and helps to support Salty Dog Rescue and Coastal Boxer Rescue of Florida.
