We adopted Simon from Brevard Humane Society when he was 3 months old.
He will be 2 years old in August of this year, we started attending classes at BCDTC when we was around 4 months old starting with obedience classes 1 & 2 training with Jackie Sheridan , He graduated obedience class and earned his CGC (canine good citizen) and we jumped straight into scent classes in June 2025. My daughters name is lexi and she loves being apart of Simon’s classes as well as attending his trials, I can't forget my husband (Nick) when he isn't working he is our biggest supporter with everything especially training at home. Scent training has been such a wonderful thing for Simon he really looks forward to practice, attending school on Thursdays as well as trial days and it has helped Simon and myself build a strong relationship. Janet
and Sharon have been wonderful trainers and we are grateful to have you both teaching and showing us the ropes. Last weekend Simon got his USCSS Classic Novice Title, three 1st places and one 2nd place. Superstar go Simon and Family

We had some fantastic Scent Work teams competing at our USCSS Scent Work trials in Wedgefield yesterday, hosted by Christie Gammage!

Judges Sharon Everson and Janet Scenna presented some fun and challenging puzzles that really put the dogs’ skills to the test. A big thank you to Marilyn, our secretary, for doing an outstanding job keeping up with scores and organizing ribbons, along with our trial chair, Val Marino, for her support in making everything run smoothly.

Congratulations to the following teams from Brevard County Dog Training Club on the ribbons they earned—we’re so proud of all your hard work and accomplishments!
Cody and Sharon got ribbons and Pie and Nancy got their DDI classic , with a first and second.

We are proud to share that Jimmy and Bandit have successfully completed their Service Dog test under the guidance of Tia Zimmerman—passing with flying colors!

Jimmy only adopted Bandit this past April after meeting him at “Woof It Up” in Cocoa Village, an event hosted by BCDTC. He adopted Bandit from the Humane Society and has since dedicated himself to training, attending several obedience classes at BCDTC. Bandit is now also enrolled in Novice Scent.

What makes this even more special is that Jimmy trained Bandit himself as a Service Dog—a truly impressive accomplishment.

Congratulations, Jimmy and Bandit! You both deserve the highest recognition for your hard work and dedication.
