Hot shot, I have heard is doing great. He has been on several trail rides and is loving life. We are holding our breath a bit to see how he does now that the days are getting shorter!!

Hot Shot is back to his job. Still a little tough breathing but plenty of energy. Likes what he is doing.

A case of equine COPD resolution

Well, you know how you give clients instructions and they say, "I'll follow them to the letter." Then, of course they don't. Since the hurricane passed, Hot Shot and his owner have been riding daily; however, they were to begin with a walk until they were up to a 30 minute walk daily. According to the owner, " It takes a long time to work for 30 minutes." So they are walking some, then trotting (about a week early) and then walking some. The report says, Hot Shot is recovering in less than 20 minutes from the trotting around poles. So they decided to do it again tomorrow. Will keep you posted on how far ahead of his planned progress they are.

For those of you wondering, Hot Shot had a nice dry night during Hurricane Matthew. He is doing great and even had a ride on Friday. Will be back to riding soon after some clean up around the farm.

Hot Shot wanted to let everyone know he is home and he and his owner went for a ride yesterday, and again today. Should be back to regular work soon. Right now they are waiting, like everyone else in Charleston, SC, for Hurricane Matthew to pass. But breathing is normal again for him and he recovered from a short ride this morning easily. It has been some time since riding was fun like this.

A note from Hot Shot and his owner: Just letting you know that Hot Shot and I made it back to SC OK. He traveled well, drank some water along the way, ate a good supper and late snack on Saturday. The trip Saturday was uneventful. I kept him in his stall last night to let Freckles and him reacquaint. He's down in the bottom pasture eating grass and swishing flies. I'll give him a ride later this afternoon. Thanks for looking out for us. I appreciate the efforts of my "voodoo" vets.

Another late night snack. Hot Shot is feeling very much more like himself, said Dr. Amy. He is putting on weight again and eating like a horse. He only has one more chelation treatment to go in the set and he will be ready to go home to South Carolina!
