Green Acres Farm Animal Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit animal sanctuary. Our primary focus areas are rehabilitation, training, and providing a forever sanctuary for those who would likely end up in an unfortunate situation if they left the Foundation due to medical or behavioral issues. We strive to use positive reinforcement training methods to help the animals learn necessary husbandry behavio

rs such as medical treatments, as well as to train animals to demonstrate the benefits and effectiveness of the method. We currently house 16 horses, 2 miniature horses, 2 miniature donkeys, 2 small breed cattle, 13 goats, 8 cats and 2 dogs, and as you can imagine this is a lot of work and expense. I'm historically s**t at asking for help, but I need it now.❤️

Friends, the last 8 months without Dad have been a whirlwind of learning experiences, grief, and new beginnings. Dad and I knew that this Foundation would have to change as he aged and we had put together a plan to transition to a more manageable number of animals over the next 5 to 10 years as he aged but as you know, life had other plans. 💔

I have successfully adopted out 4 goats and two horses this year and we have two more horses to go, and with these two mares, I knew I needed help. Libby and Lark have both been adopted out before and unfortunately came back with trauma that made them unsuitable for the average adopter. So I have kept them here while they remembered what the love of human hands should feel like. I had hoped to be able to overcome their fears completely myself and find them their people but without Dad, my time is so tight and I finally admitted I can't do right by tgese girls alone, so I reached out to Rainbow Meadows Equine Rescue in Junction City, KS.

Rainbow Meadows has agreed take in these girls and to help me find appropriate placement with people they entrust with horses like Libby and Lark who just need some time to remember people aren't all bad.

The girls need some veterinary preventive care to move on to their new adventure and that is going to run us about $500 per mare so I am asking for your help to get them on their way.
