Important Health Update:
Biosecurity at Heart Centered Horsemanship
To my valued clients and the New Hampshire equestrian community:
As many of you are aware, there are currently reported cases of Strangles (Streptococcus equi) within our state. At Heart Centered Horsemanship, the safety and well-being of your horse(s) is my absolute highest priority.
Because I travel between facilities for training and lessons, I have been implementing the following biosecurity protocols to ensure I am not a vector for the spread of this contagious disease:
Clothing: I am wearing fresh, clean clothes and outerwear for every job. I will change completely between clients to prevent cross-contamination.
Sanitization: I am sanitizing my footwear before entering and upon leaving every facility.
Hand Hygiene: I am thoroughly washing my hands and using hand sanitizer before and after handling any horse.
Equipment: I will not be sharing tack or training equipment between different barns. In addition, horse trailer rentals are temporarily unavailable during this time.
How You Can Help ‼️
Effective biosecurity is a community effort. I kindly ask for your transparency and cooperation:
Notification: If you knowingly have a horse that has tested positive for Strangles, is showing clinical signs (fever, nasal discharge, or swollen lymph nodes), or if your facility is under a voluntary or mandatory quarantine, please notify me so I can respect quarantine.
Monitoring: I encourage everyone to monitor their horses’ temperatures daily. Early detection is key to stopping the spread.
Thank you for your understanding and for helping me keep our equine partners safe. If you have any questions about my protocols or how we can work together to protect your horses, please don't hesitate to reach out.
