🐾✨ Patient Update: Meet Lady! ✨🐾

Remember that amazing blood donation from Arthur? Well, this is Lady, the sweet girl on the receiving end of that life-saving transfusion 💉❤️

We’re happy to share that Lady is doing well, and we feel so lucky to have her here with us as she continues her recovery. Moments like these remind us just how powerful kindness (and a little bit of canine heroism!) can be.

And we have to ask… has everyone seen Lady and the Tramp? 🍝🐶 This real-life Lady has certainly stolen our hearts just the same!

Let’s all send her lots of love and healing thoughts as she continues to get stronger each day 💕

👏🐾 Let’s hear it again for Cindy and her incredible pup, Arthur! 🐾👏

On a moment’s notice, they came by to donate blood and help save another dog in need of a transfusion. This kind of compassion and selflessness truly makes a difference, and we are beyond grateful for both of them. ❤️

It takes a special kind of hero to step up like that, and Arthur handled it like an absolute champ!

From all of us here at Meredith Animal Hospital, thank you, Cindy and your amazing pack, for showing what community and kindness are all about. 🐶💕

🌸☀️ What a stretch of beautiful spring weather we’ve been having! It’s the perfect time to get outside and enjoy the sunshine with your furry friends 🐾

As we head into the warmer months, here are some spring do’s and don’ts to keep your pets happy and healthy:

🌷 DO:
✔️ Keep pets up to date on vaccines & wellness exams
✔️ Check your pet daily for ticks (they are already out in full swing, even in cooler temps!)
✔️ Use monthly flea & tick preventatives
✔️ Keep dogs leashed and cats supervised outdoors

🌼 DON’T:
❌ Let pets roam unsupervised (wildlife & toxins are more active!)
❌ Forget that some spring plants (like lilies) are toxic to pets
❌ Assume indoor pets are safe, ticks can hitch a ride inside!

🦟 Tick Reminder:
Ticks are here and thriving, yes, even now! Prevention is key to avoiding tick-borne diseases. Let’s get your pet protected today!

❤️ Heartworm Season is Almost Here!
Heartworm prevention season officially kicks off next month, and it’s so important to stay ahead of it!

🐶 Heartworm Facts in Dogs:
• Heartworms are spread through mosquito bites
• They live in the heart and lungs, causing serious damage
• It can take months before symptoms appear
• Prevention is MUCH easier (and safer!) than treatment
• Annual heartworm testing is required before starting/preventing infection

Let’s make this spring a safe and healthy one for all our pets 🌼 Call us to schedule your pet’s heartworm test and get started on preventatives!

Good Morning from Meredith Animal Hospital! ❄️🐾

Believe it or not… ticks are already out in full swing, yes, even during this snow! These pesky parasites become active whenever temperatures creep above freezing, which means our pets can be at risk earlier than many people think.

Now is the perfect time to make sure your pets are protected with their tick preventatives, and don’t forget, heartworm season is right around the corner! Prevention now can save your pet from serious health issues later.

🕷️ Fun Tick Facts:
• Ticks don’t jump or fly, they wait on grass and brush and latch onto animals/people as they pass by.
• Indoor pets can still get ticks! They can hitch a ride inside on people, clothing, or other pets.
• Some ticks can survive cold temperatures and snow, staying active whenever it warms up.
• Ticks can transmit several diseases to pets, making prevention extremely important.

✔️ Check your pets regularly
✔️ Stay current on preventatives
✔️ Ask us about the best protection for your dog or cat

Let’s keep those tails wagging and pets healthy this season! 🐶🐱

🌷🐾 Happy April from Meredith Animal Hospital!🐾🌷

April is here and we are heading into spring at a rapid pace! Warmer days, melting snow, and longer walks are right around the corner. It’s the perfect time for both pets and people to enjoy the fresh air after a long New England winter.

This adorable photo is featuring Ellie and Crew, a true pair! 💕 These two are clearly enjoying each other’s company and reminding us how special the bond between pets can be.

As we welcome spring, here are a few spring safety tips for your dogs and cats:

🌱 Watch for toxic plants, Spring flowers like lilies, tulips, and daffodils can be dangerous for pets if ingested.
🐜 Parasite season has been upon us! Fleas, ticks, and mosquitoes begin to appear as temperatures warm up. Make sure your pet is up to date on preventatives.
🧪 Be careful with lawn products, Fertilizers, w**d killers, and pesticides can be harmful if pets walk through or ingest them.
🚗 Open windows safely, Curious cats especially love fresh air, so make sure window screens are secure.
🐾Check paws after walks: Mud, leftover ice melt, and debris can irritate paw pads.

Spring is a wonderful time to get outside, schedule wellness visits, and make sure your furry friends are healthy and ready for the warmer months ahead! 🌼

We hope everyone has a fantastic start to April! What are you and your pets most excited for this spring?

🌧️ April showers bring May flowers… right? We are ALMOST into April. Well, today is definitely giving us the showers part! What a dreary day out there in New England!

While we wait for those beautiful spring flowers to arrive, we’d love to know, what are everyone’s plans for Easter this year? 🐣🌷

And don’t forget… the Easter Bunny will be making an appearance here this Friday! We can’t wait to see everyone and celebrate with some springtime fun. Swing on by for a picture with the Easter Bunny!

🐰 Fun Easter Animal Facts:
• Rabbits can see nearly 360 degrees around them thanks to the placement of their eyes!
• A baby rabbit is called a kit.
• Chickens can recognize over 100 different faces of people and animals!
• The tradition of the Easter Bunny bringing eggs actually comes from rabbits being seen as a symbol of new life and spring.

⚠️ Quick Easter Pet Safety Tip:
Keep chocolate, candy, and plastic grass out of reach of pets, they can be dangerous if eaten.

Drop a 🐰 or a 🐣 in the comments and tell us what your pets are doing for Easter weekend!

🐾 Fun Pet Facts + Helpful Pet Care Tips! 🐾

We love sharing fun facts about our furry friends, but we also want to help keep them healthy! Let’s see how many of these you knew 👀

🐶 Fun Fact: Dogs’ noses are wet to help absorb scent chemicals, which improves their incredible sense of smell!
💡 Pet Tip: If your dog’s nose is occasionally dry, that’s normal. But if you notice cracking, sores, or discharge, it’s always a good idea to have it checked out.

🐱 Fun Fact: A cat’s purr can vibrate between 25–150 Hz, which scientists believe may actually help promote healing of bones and tissues.
💡 Pet Tip: Even if your cat seems healthy, annual exams are important because cats are very good at hiding illness.

🐾 Fun Fact: Dogs and cats both use their whiskers to sense objects and changes in their environment.
💡 Pet Tip: Never trim your pet’s whiskers, they are an important sensory tool for navigating their surroundings.

🦴 Fun Fact: Large breed dogs age faster than small breed dogs, which is why they often enter their “senior years” earlier.
💡 Pet Tip: As pets age, routine bloodwork and wellness exams become even more important to catch health issues early.

🌸 Spring Reminder: With warmer weather approaching, it’s a great time to schedule your pet’s heartworm test and talk about starting heartworm prevention for the season! Mosquitoes are the main carriers, and prevention is much easier than treatment.

Everyone say Hello to Opal. She is anxiously waiting for all the love!
