Such a busy few weeks, loving on so many dogs! Haircuts and hugs, Tears and worry.
Had a scare with HGE- Hemorrhagic Gastroenteritis. I woke up to a pup with bloody p**p in her kennel and after talking to mom drove her to the vet! Who then said she needed 24 hour care in mn and needed to go NOW. So off we went!
After hospitalization and mom and dad driving all the way home! She ate and made a full recovery! Sweet girl you scared us!
Later in the week I had a scheduled stay with my doodle friend Chino who was recently diagnosed with cancer and on hospice care. We snuggled and took walks to the creek. Fed him special snacks from my fridge and spoon fed him his new favorite food, spam. He slept on the cool floor or couch, never in his kennel and got special ice water. No one knew how much time we had left with chino but I wanted to make him as comfy as possible while he stayed. A few days later I got the call and was honored to be able to say goodbye as he left this world. He is already so missed. Rest easy sweet boy.
The same day groomed a pup and found out his "brother",who is very old, was struggling.
I made the drive to their home to say goodbye to a dog who ive known for 12 years now...
Last weekend we found out my dear friend had lost her young dog suddenly. Her soul dog. We didn't see it coming. My heart aches for her and the pain I know she is in.
Working with animals isn't always snuggles and play time. Some times it's really hard. I know SO many amazing family's with SO many dogs that have touched my heart! People who let me be apart of their pets lives and I will NEVER take that for granted.
I know this is a long post with some sad endings. (One very good one!) I just wanted to thank you all. For letting me be apart of your lives. I am forever greatful that I get to love you and your dogs. Through the good and the bad and till the very end.
I hope I get to see everyone of the dogs Ive met and cared for when I leave this world. I cant think of anything more beautiful and comforting. ā¤ļø
