DCHS staff favorite ✨MGK✨

Mariah says, “He has a heart of gold, even when the world is scary! He is a very curious kitty who enjoys investigating the world (at his own pace). He is a sweetheart who sometimes tells quiet little stories, leans into head rubs (so much that he falls over) and enjoys rolling around in his blankets.

MGK has been working on his confidence lately, but still tends to be a little shy and will need someone who is willing to be patient with him as he adjusts to his new surroundings.

Loud noises and fast movements are scary but if you can provide him with a safe hiding spot (somewhere comfy he can nuzzle his whole body into) and gentle head scratches he will become your best friend!”

Follow-Up Friday 🎉

Story (dog) was adopted on 4/23/2026 after 1 month due to medical reasons and Boots (cat) was adopted on 5/7/2026 after 85 days. Here's what their owner had to say!

“Story and Boots both settled in so quickly! Boots loves to cuddle underneath the covers, drink water out of the sink and go for walks around the yard. Story loves to bother Boots, walk up and down the stairs (big win for a partially blind dog!), and mooch when we're eating.”

🌈 Update: We were informed after publishing this update that Boots had suddenly declined and his family made the difficult decision to put him to sleep just yesterday..
We are so grateful for his family for giving him a home despite him being a diabetic senior, and showing him so much love during their short time with him. 🤍
