Liz with Shadow Husky Rescue rescued gorgeous Shadow ID from the Los Angeles Downey shelter today. On Shadow’s 10th Birthday (DOB 8/15/16), her prior owner dumped her there! She suffered years of menstruations, developed mammary masses due to not being spayed, +severe FLY STRIKES fed on her skin, leaving bloody sores w/her ear tips bitten off, in the most inhumane way. Shadow got a bad rap on intake, described as whale eyes showing teeth +growling w/ high fear anxiety stress level. 💯% FALSE‼️NO ONE WANTED HER!😖She sat in a cage for weeks. We were alerted to her final call prompting fosters Alison & Warren Cann to step up. Master Wolf alerted Tabitha the rescue coordinator 5 minutes prior to closing to line up a 9:30am pick up prior to opening today. When Shadow exited the shelter she turned in amazement +her face lit up. She enjoyed her freedom hot dogs. I brought 2 sizes (S + L) Max & Neo collars but she needs M (now on its way), slip leash, 6 doses of Panacur, seat belt hook, harness, flea treatment, +food provided +more to come. We set up an account w/Alison’s preferred vet who will see Shadow next week. Alison & Warren have fostered +adopted huskies we’ve pulled since 2018: Buttercup, Rocky, Sunshine, Cosmos, now Shadow. They are known✨in the rescue community. To us they are family sharing daily “joys” of rescue. They have HEART. We’ve got a long road ahead. Shadow had few pledges on some threads and she NEEDS donations. People have been telling us that they cannot see our fundraisers. We need you! Today 💥Bruce💥had his post ureter reimplantation consultation with Dr Andre Le Sueur at UC Davis Weill School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Le Sueur really understands kidney disease and is very caring, knowledgeable and supportive! He has been that one constant for Bruce since his bout with kidney stones at 8 weeks old. He turned 1 on 8/26/2026🎂 Bruce really really adores him. Today Bruce had a renal panel, Lytes-8, Urinalysis, PCV/TS, IDEXX Cystststin B Test with UPC, a Nephrology/Urology Recheck, Cytocentesis, and Ultrasound. All of the test results will be ready in a few days but those readily available show that he’s doing great. His left ureter is still enlarged but less than prior to surgery and the ureter surgery site looks good! He does need to drink more water. His right kidney looks amazing. If the results all look good Bruce will go back in 6 months for another nephrology recheck. UC Davis will soon be moving to a different state of the art location and Bruce looks forward to seeing Dr Le Sueur again! Fosters Do Save Lives‼️Sherman ID #27-02262 was rescued from SEEACA Downey shelter by Shadow Husky Rescue on Tuesday with the assistance of Yasha Bear 🐺✨’s Mom and Sarah Elizabeth - SEAACA shelter volunteer 🐶.
Sherman is a big Wooly Blue Eyed 🥺Malamute with Freckles and reminds me of a Bernese Mountain Dog! He is Truly Stunning and Gentle. Sherman entered SEAACA 10 days prior overheated (hyperthermia) his temperature was 104.2 and was taken to VCA vet. When he returned to the shelter he was hidden from sight once he recovered he was put out front in the ‘VIP’ section but no one adopted him.
We tried for days in search of a foster no luck until his deadline Tuesday morning Master Wolf received a text from a former foster back in 2020 who has a great home in Sonoma and loves Malamutes as much as we do! They are out of town and cannot receive Sherman until the 10th. We sprung into action Liz went to get him and met Sarah at the shelter. Stephanie Gallegos the Manager at Cottage Pet Hospital lined up a complete work up including boarding and neuter and bloodwork at a cost of $1,785. Sherman will be getting the care he needs. We also will need transportation to Sonoma next Thursday. Medical costs and fuel are now the biggest concerns we are facing as a rescue. Master wolf with Shadow Husky Rescue has a 3 year old male owner surrender husky named Blue that would love someone to play with!! Blue is out of Bell Gardens in LA County. Here is what the owner had to say~

I have a beautiful dog named Blue.
My neighbor dumped him on me a few weeks ago. He basically told me to keep him & moved away
I didn’t want him going to seacca.
So I got him fixed and fully vaccinated, I currently have him in boarding, because I’m a congested heart failure Patient in and out of the hospital. *Temperament:
Blue was just a outside dog. He was just a bit neglected by his humans just existing. He wants to be by humans but needs to built trust. He loves walks , play with female dogs & then sometimes he like to be alone relaxing in the sun. He knows sit hands
He was fixed and vaccinated last Friday 8/ 28/2026
He is fully registered to me.
