From local businesses giving away free pizzas with every adoption ( thank you Little Italy ), to the city’s Parole Board sponsoring 2 adoption fees, to the amazing offering give away prizes and sponsoring more adoptions fees, to the City of Mena fire department coming out for pictures and offering fire safety tips for animal owners…to Ethan Nahte from the Mena Star spending his day with us covering the event, to our one and only veterinary partners at Pleasant Hill Animal Clinic giving on site vaccinations and mani pedis 💅💅AND to and for taking professional video and puppy headshots 📸 and to the staff and volunteers helping with this event ….AND the community that has come by, shown support and adopted!!!the list goes on and on!!!!

Wouldn’t the world be a better place if we ALL saw ourselves as Kahus ….pronounced kah-hoo) , meaning :

Pet Guardianship: In Hawaii, people do not refer to themselves as their pet’s “owner.” Instead, they are their pet’s kahu. It signifies that the animal is a cherished companion and part of your soul, rather than just property.

Spiritual & Church Leaders: Kahu is widely used to address a pastor, minister, or spiritual leader.

Caretakers of the Land: It is used to describe stewards of the earth or teachers who guide and nurture the growth of others.

let’s start of movement, who’s with me ?
