“ I can sleep on windy nights”
This is part of a story I read as a little kid in one of my grandmas books at her house.
The story was about a little boy who needed a job and asked a farmer to hire him. The farmer of course asked about experience and every time the little boy would say “I can sleep on windy nights”. The farmer thought this was odd but hired the little boy anyway , he was a good farm hand and the farmer was quite happy.
One night a huge storm rolled in , the farmer jumped up out of bed and threw on his boots! He ran to the barn where the little boy was fast asleep , Boy !! Boy !! Wake up the farmer said , but the little boy slept soundly . The farmer ran to the hay to cover it , but when he got there , the hay was tucked and covered as tight as could be . The farmer ran back to the boy . Boy !! Boy !! Get up the horses need gathered to the barn , but the little boy stayed fast asleep. The farmer was furious ! “I’m going to fire him first thing in the morning!!” The farmer fumed . When he went to the horse barn , the horses were warm and cozy. Then the little boys words echoed in his ears …. “I can sleep on windy nights”.
I shared all of that to say this , the effort the team of LifeLine Service Dogs , Dogwood Pet Spa and Happy Tails of Mena was significant and monumental. I’d like to thank Americhemm of Mena AR for posting the free barrels , THANK YOU! Judith Kelly and Ronald Kelly for the use of the horse trailer. The stress of ensuring we make it through this storm has weighed heavy but tonight , I can sleep on windy nights because of each and everyone you. I’m so blessed and thankful.
Before I go I want to thank my Heavenly Father who “saw me” today. He met me in my prayers and provided what we needed. Father bless each and everyone who said “I’m here” and carried your blessings to us.
I’m praying for everyone’s safety and hoping y’all stay warm.
