Around her foster home, she's known as **"Sad Eyes,"** but don't let that nickname fool you—Corinne is a happy, playful kitten with a gentle spirit and plenty of love to give.

Corinne is the classic middle child of her litter. She's a little calmer than her sisters but always ready to join the fun when there's a toy to chase—especially if it has a bell attached! When playtime is over, you'll often find her enjoying a sunny box nap, sitting inside a Croc, or cuddling up with her adopted mom and sisters.

Emery is the biggest, bravest, and most outgoing kitten in her litter. She's always ready for her next adventure, whether that's climbing to new heights, pouncing on toys, wrestling with her sisters, or investigating every corner of the house.

Today, Emery is thriving. She spends her days playing with her sisters, exploring the house under supervision, and snuggling up with her adopted mom, Anabella.

Meet Waldo ( ), a curious, playful puppy who's always on the move... until it's time to curl up next to his favorite person for a nap.

Waldo is currently thriving in foster care, where he's become the ultimate little shadow. If his foster gets up, Waldo gets up. If she's sitting down, he's right there with his head resting on her leg. He's equal parts adventure buddy and cuddle bug.

Penny may have had a rough start, but she's making up for lost time with plenty of love, play, and personality.

At just 8 months old, Penny arrived at Memphis Animal Services with an embedded collar injury. Despite everything she's been through, she has remained incredibly sweet, resilient, and eager to make friends. She hasn't met a stranger and wants to be wherever the action is!

This petite girl turns heads with her beautiful merle coat and striking green eyes. She's currently in foster care where she's showing everyone just how much fun she can be. Penny loves other dogs and enjoys a rough-and-rowdy play style, so she'd do best with canine friends who can keep up with her energy.

🚛❤️ Transport Day is one of our favorite days at MAS!

Today, 17 incredible dogs are hitting the road to begin their next chapter with Animal House in the Chicago area. Thanks to the power of partnership, these pups will have new opportunities to find loving homes and bright futures.

Every transport creates much-needed space at our shelter while giving deserving animals a fresh start. We couldn't do it without our rescue partners who help make these life-changing journeys possible.

🏡❤️ Forever Home Friday ❤️🏡

Last October, Curtis ( ) arrived at Memphis Animal Services as a stray. While we didn't know much about his past, it didn't take long for us to learn one thing—he was a giant baby who just wanted love.

Fast forward to today, and look at him now! 🥹

Curtis has traded shelter life for a home filled with love, comfort, and all the spoiling he deserves. From stray dog to beloved family member, his story is a reminder of how life-changing adoption can be.

Thank you to Curtis' family for opening your hearts and giving this sweet boy the happy ending he was waiting for. Seeing updates like these makes all the difference and reminds us why we do what we do.

Enjoy your forever, Curtis. We think it's safe to say you're being spoiled rotten exactly as you should be. 💙

📊 Field Report Friday: June 3–10

Here's a look at the week at Memphis Animal Services:

🚨 Our Animal Control team responded to 536 calls for service across Memphis and Shelby County, helping address concerns related to stray animals, public safety, injured pets, animal welfare, and more.

🐾 287 animals entered our shelter
• 140 owner surrenders
• 144 animals brought in by Memphis Animal Control
• 3 animals brought in by Shelby County Animal Control

That included:
🐶 200 dogs
🐱 86 cats
🐦 1 bird

❤️ Outcomes
• 75 adoptions (48 dogs, 25 cats)
• 50 rescue transfers (48 dogs, 2 cats)

We're grateful for every adoption and rescue placement, but intake remains high and our kennels are still full. The animals who left this week created much-needed space, but many more are still waiting for families, foster homes, and rescue partners.

If you've been thinking about adding a pet to your family, now is a great time to visit. Whether you're looking for a running buddy, a couch companion, a barn cat, or even a feathered friend, chances are we have someone waiting to meet you.
