Today we’re celebrating World Bongo Day with our trio: Birch, Frankie, and Marvin! 🧡 You can always spot these playful fellas sparring, hanging out with the hogs, or absolutely chillin’ in the Veldt.

They are great ambassadors for their species, and every visit to Memphis Zoo helps support their conservation. Bongos are listed as Near Threatened on the IUCN Red List due to habitat loss, hunting, and population fragmentation.

We’re currently making some updates to our Northwest Passage exhibit, and have a few important changes to note.

Starting today, May 26, our polar bear Koda will be inside as our team performs maintenance on his exhibit. Northwest Passage and our underwater viewing will remain open during this time. We'll let you know when he has access back outside!

Heads up, sea lion fans! Beginning June 6, our free summer sea lion shows will have a new schedule. Weekdays, the show will happen at 11:00 am and 3:00 pm. On weekends, we will have an 11:00 am and 1:30 pm show. Weekends at 3:00 pm, we’re offering an exclusive sea lion encounter, which can be purchased here: https://www.memphiszoo.org/exclusive-encounters

Each blood donor will receive one free giraffe deck feeding ticket as a thank you for giving back to the community. ❤️

UPDATE: Due to the weather, Library Day has been canceled. We’ll still have animals for you to meet in the Herpetarium!

Grab a seat and join us for Library Day with Memphis Public Libraries on Tuesday, May 26! 📖 Enjoy story readings and meet our ambassador animals. Join us at 11:00 am behind the Herpetarium on the Wild Encounters stage!

As a reminder, it will also be Tennessee Tuesday, so Tennessee residents can enjoy free admission to the Zoo during their visit! If any changes are made to the location or time, we will update you on social media.
