R.I.P. Goldie
Dear Mike, I wanted to let you know that on 3/6/26 we had to say goodbye to our dear sweet 17 year old Goldie. We adopted Goldie in May 2009 when she was 5 months old. (She had been lovingly fostered by Celia Swan). We adopted Goldie on the occasion of our daughter’s 13th birthday and my daughter is now 30.
Goldie was always down for a walk in the neighborhood, the park, the beach, or the cranberry bogs near our new home. Our fun adventures with Goldie over the years gave us the opportunity to meet so many nice people and dogs we would otherwise never have had the chance to meet.
It was so hard to see Goldie suffer at the end of her life with dementia and immobility nor could she enjoy the things she always loved. However, she had a long happy and otherwise healthy life. No more pain and suffering for her: she’s at the rainbow bridge now with all the friends she long outlived. We are so grateful for the gift of Goldie’s life. She was the perfect match for our family. She was such a special dog. She taught us how to live, how to love, and when the time came, how to say goodbye. 😢 Thank you for connecting us to Goldie. We will miss her and love her forever.
