Millie crossed the rainbow bridge today.

Millie was surrendered to us in 2023. She had been rescued from a kill lot and found a home with her new owners' three Arabian horses. Millie, being a nervous Tennessee Walker with a blind eye, ended up being picked on by the Arabians and her owner felt she would do better at our sanctuary.
Millie was still at the bottom of the herd hierarchy here, but there was plenty of space for her to keep her distance but still be a part of the herd. She and Sarge built a special relationship and were often seen close together.
Millie recently became totally blind and, being in her early thirties, was having a hard time with it. We felt the kindest act to give her was to help her transition home.
Millie was a favorite of the staff and many of our volunteers and will be missed by all.

🐴 HELP US KEEP OUR RESCUE HORSES HEALTHY 🐴

At Just A Horse Rescue and Sanctuary, every horse who comes through our gates deserves safety, care, and a chance to heal. One of the most important parts of that care is keeping them protected through routine vaccinations.

This month, we are raising funds to cover essential vaccines for our 23 horses. Vaccinations help protect them from serious and potentially life-threatening illnesses such as tetanus, rabies, West Nile virus, and equine encephalitis. The cost to vaccinate one horse is $48 for a total cost of $1,100.

With so many horses depending on us, these medical costs add up quickly — but we cannot do this without our community.

Here’s how you can help:
• Sponsor a horse’s vaccinations
• Make a one-time donation of any amount
• Share this post to help us reach more supporters

Every dollar goes directly toward vaccines, keeping our horses safe, healthy, and comfortable.

A healthy horse is a protected horse — and your support truly makes that possible.

Thank you to all who shared the day with us yesterday for our Open House. It is always great to meet new and see old friends. Special thanks to our Board Members who, without them, we could not share our mission.
