Mia is a dog I’ve been pet sitting for years. She’s a rescue and has some neurological issues that make her very scared of people. I always do a quick drop in before her family leaves town so she gets familiar with me again. It usually takes her a few days to remember me. This time it took 3 visits. You can see from the first photo she wouldn’t come out of her kennel. At the second visit she came over and let me pet her on the back. Then this morning on my 3rd visit she got on the couch next to me and let me pet her on the head and eventually the stomach. When I would stop she would paw at my hands to get me to keep petting her. Mia is such a sweet girl and she just needs a little time to remember that I’m a safe human.
