This week we lost Travis, one of our oldest and most notable permanent residents. If you have been to our shelter in the last decade you may have see him, like a orange traffic cone in a sea of brown tabbies.
If our resident cats had a head hancho it was Travis, who they would habitually gather around for a nap in our main free roam room. He was somewhat friendly to people, but mostly only people with treats. He taught many of our more shy cats to be a little braver and calmer about people.
He was a friend to many cats, and developed strong bonds with most of our residents. We will be watching over them closely for a while as they adjust to new reality with out him. We will all be missing his bright orange fur, and grizzled, handsome face. But we are very lucky have been able to provide hime with a place to have lived his life in love and peace.
