Meet Louie. He's making progress at his own pace.
When Louie arrived at Campbell County Animal Services, he was severely underweight and frightened. He had come in as a stray with two other dogs, and the unfamiliar surroundings and new faces were a lot for him to take in.
Over the past few months, Louie has made some important progress. He's reached his goal weight, and now he's ready for the next chapter of his story: finding a home.
Louie is the kind of dog who likes to take things slowly. Meeting new people can still make him nervous, and he needs time to feel comfortable in unfamiliar places. A calm, patient home where he can settle in at his own pace would be a great match.
October is Adopt a Shelter Dog Month, and Louie is one of the dogs at Campbell County Animal Services hoping to find the right family.
Could you be the person willing to give Louie the time and patience he needs?
Visit Campbell County Animal Services to learn more about Louie and how to meet him. And if adoption isn't in your plans, sharing his story could help him find the right home.
