🚨 A VERY IMPORTANT REMINDER FOR ALL OUR PET PARENTS 🐾❤️
Today, a client was bringing her two dogs into the shop for nail trims—one in her arms and the other on a leash. As she was almost at the door, something startled the dog on the leash. He managed to slip right out of his collar and took off running straight onto Wickham Road. Tragically, he was hit by a car, and the driver continued on, leaving the owner to witness the heartbreaking moment. 😢💔
Thankfully, there is a fire station right behind our shop, and EMS was returning to the station when they witnessed the accident. They immediately stopped traffic, allowing us to safely get to the pup and rush him to the vet.
A HUGE THANK YOU to Dr. Lopez and the team at Vet Nest! ❤️ They allowed us to walk right in and immediately jumped into action. After X-rays, an ultrasound, and bloodwork, we received the best news we could have hoped for: by the grace of God, there were no internal injuries or broken bones! 🙏🐾
He will undoubtedly be sore for a while, but he is still here with us, and for that, we are beyond grateful. ❤️
So, why am I sharing this?
Because this is a reminder that could potentially save your pet's life.
🐾 PLEASE make sure your dog's collar or harness fits securely and that they cannot slip out of it. Even the most well-behaved dog can get startled by something unexpected, and in a split second, everything can change.
This can happen anywhere, so please be extra cautious when bringing your pups into our shop. We are located dangerously close to busy Wickham Road, and we never want another pet or family to experience something like this.
Please take a moment to check your pup's collar or harness before leaving home, getting out of the car, or walking through our doors. A secure fit can make all the difference.
We are so incredibly thankful this little one is still with us today. ❤️🙏
