⚠️🚨RABIES ALERT — MELBOURNE AREA🚨 ⚠️

The Florida Department of Health in Brevard County has issued a 60-day rabies alert after a raccoon captured near Andrews Avenue tested positive for rabies.

The affected area is bordered by West Eau Gallie Boulevard, Sarno Road, Croton Road and North Wickham Road.

Please help protect your family and pets:

• Avoid contact with wild or stray animals.
• Keep pets vaccinated and on a leash.
• Secure livestock and outdoor animals.
• Do not leave pet food or open garbage outside.

If you or your pet is bitten or scratched, seek medical or veterinary attention immediately.

Report exposures to DOH-Brevard at 321-634-6337, option 3. To report stray animals, contact BCSO Animal Services at 321-633-2024.

Sometimes the right pet finds you when you least expect it. 🧡

One of our loyal clients called us this morning while driving home from HALO—with a new baby she had absolutely not planned on adopting—to schedule an appointment with Dr. Rodriguez.

She had actually gone to visit a different kitten who isn’t quite ready for adoption yet, but whom she plans to adopt when the time comes. While she was there, a HALO employee introduced her to THIS little guy.

The moment she noticed he was missing his tail, she gasped. She had recently lost her beloved orange boy, Dash, who was also missing his tail (last photo) 🧡

She certainly wasn’t planning on bringing home two kittens, but there was no way she could resist this sweet face—or what felt like a little sign from Dash. 🥹

Now he needs a name! Since her husband is a pilot, they’re thinking of something aviation-themed. ✈️ Drop your best name suggestions in the comments!
