Just a little program/litter update!
Since 8 weeks old, we have done so much and time has flew!
First momma Scribble!
Scribble has gained weight again and is looking good for being a postpartum momma dog. She is very naked, she has absolutely blown every possible hair out during this period of recovery from a litter and she is unfortunately bald 😂 She has developed an incisional hernia since weaning her puppies unfortunately but luckily it should be an easy fix during her spay. I will be scheduling that in the coming months!
Electra ⚡️
Electra is coming along beautifully, she only improves in expression with age and her eyes have really started to pretty up as her face has elongated! She is taking well to training and learns fast! Her biggest weakness is new environments and so we have been trying to take her out and about as much as possible to get her settling and comfortable in new places. She is a bit more shy than her siblings meeting new people and dogs, but is a total love bug and warms up quickly! Ear taping is going 😂 keeping a brace in is a challenge because her brother WILL NOT leave it alone! She is full of sass and absolutely keeps us all on our toes.
Cyggy Piggy 🐖
This guy is just confident and full of it ALL the time! He is going through some puppy sillies in structure right now but his expression and profile continues to be my favorite pieces of him. He acts soooo much like his mom but with extra points for goofy boy shenanigans. He’s not the biggest fan of walking on the leash but he’s getting there and getting better about forward motion 😂 He really only likes to stand and look pretty for treats which is directly from Scribbles playbook 😂
I cannot wait to get Cygnus and Electra into a conformation ring, they are both so fun and it’s going to be a blast! We are hoping they make this debut this fall/winter, just trying to nail down show plans! Unfortunately they were just a day too young by AKC rules for the local BPUPs so I’d have to travel if I wanted to show them before next spring.
Dromie 🌌
Andromeda has hung back with us to complete further diagnostics before making her trip to PA to Paige in mid October! She has come to work with me several times, met so many new people, animals, and seen new places and took everything in stride with her happy go lucky attitude she always has. Dromie has been sentenced to crate rest for the remainder of her stay here due to some new findings during their secondary vaccine and recheck appointment . During her follow up radiographs of her tibia/fibula (which looks FANTASTIC per her veterinary team) I asked for views of hips as I was curious what kind of environmental affects the splint and tibia fracture may have had on her hips with her being so young. She had always had a wonky gait but we had always attributed it to her tibia, well come to find out, she has had a pelvic fracture this whole time! My vets suspect it has been there since she was stepped on by Scribble initially. Since we had not stabilized her pelvis like we had her tibia/fibula or put her on crate rest, it is taking longer to heal. We had no way of knowing since previous radiographs did not show images of her pelvis and just her leg. So in the meantime, she is completely separated and confined to a small outdoor/indoor run space to help aid in healing. We did reach out to the orthopedic specialists at WestVet for a consultation, and they had let us know that surgery is not typically an option for a fracture of this nature and it will heal on its own. So it will just take time and TLC 🩷
Needless to say, she is completely healthy and thriving, growing and gaining weight just like she should! Smart and sassy and just the best temperament. Smart as a whip too!
Buc 🏴☠️
Buc has been in his new home for several weeks and they just adore him! I have gotten updates about his new adventures with his house mate Callie! Ann has relayed just how sweet and fun he is! He’s growing like a w**d! I miss him dearly, but it warms my heart to get such sweet updates about him doing well and enjoying life with his family 🥹🩷🐾
