Pupdates from Fissions’s new owner. Her new name is Onyx.

This lady scored big. It used to be about putting dogs in working homes and making sure all my dogs were doing what they were bred for. Then I had some terrible experiences with contract working people, as well as watching the sport world people wash every puppy that came to them. So for me, a good home that fulfills the dog and loves them, even if they don’t work, is the most important thing.

Well, Onyx got both! Not only is she adored by her new owner Roy, but she is training in Mondio Ring with him as well. The best of both worlds. Roy’s message to me the other day just made my day, I was teary eyed:

“She’s the puppy I’ve been dreaming of for a long time.”

Sihil update for everyone.

Good news first!

The good news is the pathology came back on the mass and it is a benign cecal diverticulum. It most likely is something Sihil was born with. A freak incident that happens in less than 2% of dogs. It was completely removed Tuesday and Sihil has been recovering well. She should make a full recovery with only some occasional diarrhea as a result of the GI resection.

Because this case is so rare the likelihood of this being something that other pups in the litter have is extremely unlikely. While congenital, there is no research or studies to show it is hereditary. However, it’s so rare that the information is sparse in giving us answers.

I’m so grateful that Sihil is going to be okay, but I am also devastated as, at this time, it’s been decided to remove Sihil from the Nine Realms program. She will transfer ownership to Jo and live the most amazing life with her 🩷

Pupdate!

Also if any of my puppy owners ever send me an update and I don’t reply or post, message me again! I just forgot.

“Karin -

Thought I’d send along a photo of Argo at training on my birthday last weekend. He is spunky and full on his teenage mode! Learning fast and very responsive. As Bridget noted, he is VERY vocal… nice to have a young voice here since the boys are gone!

I’m doing a group training class and am consistently proud of his responsiveness and willingness to please. It doesn’t hurt that he is food-driven (ha ha). At the end of the last two classes, they tried the dogs on some agility equipment. At first he was tentative around the fence but last weekend he was going for it. Loved even the barrel and narrow walk.

Suki”

Sihil and her guardian owner could use all your thoughts and prayers right now.

Sihil was my keeper pup from Herja x Xerxes and is loved and adored by Jo Holcombe in Montana.

This last Sunday what started as a possible foreign body turned into a trip to the surgery specialists in Bozeman for a mass on the end of her GI tract. They were able to remove the mass but we still don’t know what it is until pathology comes back. The next week is the critical period for recovery so all the good vibes are appreciated.

I want to say I could not have asked for a more amazing guardian home than Jo. Forever grateful for her ❤️

Time for a pupdate!

Asajj

I love these by the way so all my puppy owners, please send me updates! The more the merrier.

“Hi Karin,

Wanting to give you an update on the little lady and all her recent accomplishments. First, we went to her first ever stadium concert. She did amazing. 45,000 people and completely unphased. She navigated big crowds. She slept through the whole show, and even the fireworks at the end. She was a rockstar. We even went to an aquarium where she was watching all the animals very calmly and politely. I couldn’t have asked for better behavior. She even navigated pikes place like she had walked those busy streets her whole life.

We also went to regionals for dock diving, she didn’t qualify there. BUT she was top 25% in the nation for her division so she ended up getting invited to nationals! She also ended her dock diving season ranked #19 in the country for GSD’s at 1 year old. She got a HARD charger award at her most recent trial. Which means she did all 3 disciplines and was the best in her division. We also went to an arena concert which she did amazing at. She rode a monorail that was pretty crowded for the first time and was unbothered.

And this weekend we had our first rally trial which she was 2nd both days. We will close out her Rally Novice Title maybe in November! Thank you for creating such a versatile dog, and my best friend. 💜 Cash”

This one is bittersweet but I have a great feeling about it 🩵

Théodwyn went to her new home to be a bomb dog with Logann yesterday.

Théodwyn was my keeper female from the Alizeh x Kovacs E’Halloween 2025 litter. She is a lovely female, prey drive for days, pocket sized, social with people, all dogs, great in the house, good hunt drive, athletic has hell, good tracker, and good grips. Cash, her guardian owner, and I really like her.

But, she’s a bit handler soft, and not always stupid confident in certain situations. She has little to now defensive drive and when it is triggered she tends to want to dip out rather than face the fear head on.

I’ve been taking a good look at my program and what I want to be producing. My main focus has always been stable dual purpose dogs. For that I need more defense and confident forward aggression. Théodwyn is lovely, and we went back and forth so many times on if I should keep her. Maybe she could produce active pets for my program? Probably not as I’m stepping away from that for now to focus on patrol dogs only. I have Cash the opportunity to keep her but he also decided he wanted a sharper female, but he too went back and forth. It was such a hard choice.

What made it easier was, we weren’t even looking for a new home for her when Logann stepped in asking for a bomb dog prospect. She was looking at Fission who really didn’t have the hunt drive at that time. I suggested Théodwyn and sent videos and did a meet up. It all fell into place without us really looking. That gave me the confidence it was the right choice.

We are all going to miss her so much but I am really looking forward to all the amazing adventures she has with Logann 🩵

A big YAY for Fission yesterday!

She scored on her new home in NC with Roy and his family. They have 15+ acres in the country, four of which are fully fenced for dogs. Not only that, Roy is apart of the local Mondio Ring Club, First in Flight, and does Mondio as a hobby with his other dog. So miss Fission will be joining the Mondio Ring club and having a blast.

It took her a bit to find her new home and it was so worth it. Couldn’t have asked for a better match of a working home for her. I can’t wait to see their adventures.

Thank you to Kayleigh Kyhl for raising her these last several months and helping find her her new home. It was a huge help!

Another puppy update.

“Good afternoon Karin,
I want to reach out and send you a picture of Pasja at 20 weeks. She is going to be an absolute monster, and I couldn’t be happier.
Extremely intelligent and quick learning.”
