People often ask me, “How long have you been training dogs?”

The simple answer is more than 30 years.

I’ve dedicated more than three decades to the art and science of dog training, and this newspaper article from 1998 offers a glimpse into the early years of that journey—just a few years after I began offering professional training services.

But I also believe that years of experience, by themselves, don’t tell the whole story. Someone can do something the wrong way for 50 years and still have plenty left to learn.

That’s why I often tell my clients that I consider myself “a student of knowledge.” I’m constantly learning, studying, evaluating new ideas, and refining the way I train. Dog training continues to evolve, and I believe a good trainer should evolve with it.

More than 30 years of experience has taught me a great deal, but it has also taught me the importance of remaining open-minded and continuing to learn.

What I can confidently say is that I have both the drive and the experience to help you and your dog make progress.

Move ‘N Groove Starts Next Week! 🐾 Our Move ‘N Groove Real-World Dog Walking Class starts Thursday, August 27, and we still have a couple of spots available!

If you want to improve your dog’s behavior outside the house—not just in a training room—this class is a great opportunity to practice in a real-world environment.

Over three Thursday evenings, we’ll walk through downtown Jacksonville while working on:

✅ Loose-leash walking and better leash skills
✅ Keeping your dog focused around distractions
✅ Calm socialization around dogs and people
✅ Navigating sidewalks, side walks, businesses, and public areas
✅ Building confidence in busy environments
✅ Improving communication between you and your dog

This is practical training you can use when walking through your neighborhood, visiting downtown areas, traveling with your dog, or simply going places together.
