We have a cat tree, litter box hider, and a few crates and a large cat carrier available for free on a first-come, first-served basis. We will leave the cat tree outside until late afternoon, then store it in one of our sheds if it isn't picked up so it doesn't get rained on tonight.

The items are outside the shed just past the Shelter building. The Shelter is closed due to renovations, so we’re not able to monitor when items are picked up. Our address is 101 Old Bridge St., Medfield. See less

Future TV star, Briggs, had a bath because he will be the featured dog on this week's segment of Boston 25 News Furever Friday.

Foster dog Briggs getting ready for his TV debut. Look out for Briggs on Forever Friday on Boston 25! Briggs is looking for a home that understands high energy and drive birddogs. He is about 35 lbs and 4-6 years old and would thrive with a job. He has been putting on muscle at our house, learning fetch, playing in the water, playing with the other dogs. He had been good around chickens, cows and puppies. Briggs has been working on OCD spinning and separation anxiety from his years of being under fulfilled, but is showing improvement. We are fostering Briggs for our friends at Medfield Animal Shelter !

Artemis came into our care this week after spending over 5 months at Animal Control. Her original owner had gone to jail, leaving behind his three female littermates. We took in her two sisters in early May, but sadly we didn't have room to take all three pups. We placed her sisters, Mallomar and Biscotti, in great homes where they are thriving, so when we learned Artemis was still in need of a home, we knew we had to figure out how to take her in even though the Shelter is closed for renovations. Luckily, one of our best dog volunteers offered to foster her, and she is so happy to be back in a home environment. She loves to play with other dogs and has a lot of energy to burn. She is approximately 16 months old and currently weighs 40 lbs., but is underweight. She is spayed and has had all of her vet care, so all she needs now is a loving home.

Elsie is a sweet, playful 5-month-old kitten who was originally found as a stray and transferred to us through Animal Control. She is friendly and social with other cats and may enjoy a feline playmate. Elsie is up to date on age-appropriate vet care, spayed, and microchipped. All she needs now is a home!

Thanks to some new foster homes, we have a couple of cute young cats available for adoption. This is Tootsie. She is an 8-month-old kitty who was recently surrendered to us. Her foster describes her as "a sweet, loving, gentle girl." She loves being patted and will start purring as soon as she sees you. Tootsie previously lived with other cats and has been friendly with her foster's resident cats so far, so she would likely do well in a home with another cat. She is fully vetted, spayed, and microchipped.
