⚠️ Post-Storm Pet Safety Reminder ⚠️

The recent storms that moved through our area may have left behind more than just branches and debris. Strong winds can loosen boards, damage gates, create holes under fences, and leave weak spots that aren’t always obvious at first glance.

🐾 Please take a few minutes today to:
✔️ Walk your entire fence line
✔️ Check gates, latches, and hinges
✔️ Look for fallen branches or storm damage
✔️ Inspect for gaps, holes, or loose boards
✔️ Verify tie-outs and outdoor kennels are secure

A few minutes spent checking your fence could save days, weeks, or even months of looking for a missing pet.

🐕 Keep them safe.
🐈 Keep them home.
❤️ Check those fences.

🌡️ A quick stop can become a tragedy.

Many people don’t realize how fast a vehicle heats up—even on a mild day. Cracking the windows isn’t enough, and it only takes minutes for a dog to begin suffering from heat-related illness.

If your dog can’t go inside with you, please leave them safely at home.

🐾 Be their voice. Share this post and help spread awareness.

🐾 From Concern to Capture: A Cat’s Journey to Safety ❤️

Sometimes all it takes is a community that cares.

We were tagged in a post asking if we could help trap a cat that people were concerned might be blind. After hearing the concerns, our team stepped in to see if we could safely secure the cat and get a better look at its condition.

After two days of patience, monitoring, and trapping efforts, we are happy to report that the cat was safely trapped. Tonight, this kitty is safe, warm, and able to rest comfortably while we assess its needs and determine the best path forward.

For now, the most important thing is that this cat is no longer struggling alone. Instead of facing uncertainty outside, it has a chance to rest, decompress, and receive the care it needs.

Thank you to everyone who noticed, spoke up, and reached out. Rescue doesn’t happen because of one person, it happens because a community chooses to care. This cat’s story is a reminder that when people pay attention and take action, lives can be changed.

Every life matters. Every life deserves a chance. ❤️🐾

🚨 Don’t Delay Getting Flyers Out! Flyers DO Work! 🚨

One of the biggest mistakes we see in missing pet cases is waiting too long to distribute flyers. Social media is a wonderful tool, but it should never be your only tool.

Here’s why flyers are so important:

🐾 Not everyone uses Facebook or follows lost pet pages.

🐾 Many of the people who provide critical sightings are mail carriers, delivery drivers, farmers, utility workers, construction crews, school bus drivers, and neighbors who may never see your online posts.

🐾 A flyer remains visible 24 hours a day. While a social media post can quickly disappear down a newsfeed, a flyer continues working around the clock.

🐾 Lost pets can travel farther than people realize. Flyers help create awareness beyond your immediate circle of friends and family.

When creating a flyer:

✅ Use a clear, recent photo.

✅ Include a phone number that someone will answer.

✅ List the area where the pet was lost.

✅ Keep the information simple and easy to read from a distance.

✅ Include DO NOT CHASE if the pet is fearful or has been missing for more than a few hours.

A common concern we hear is, “I don’t want people taking the flyers down.” The reality is that a flyer someone removes may have already been seen by dozens or even hundreds of people. Don’t let the possibility of a few being removed stop you from getting them out.

The first 24-72 hours are critical, but flyers remain valuable throughout the entire search. Even pets missing for weeks or months have been reunited because someone remembered seeing a flyer and recognized the animal later.

The more eyes looking, the better the chances of bringing your pet home. Don’t wait. Print them. Post them. Replace them when needed.

Flyers save lives. Flyers create sightings. Flyers bring pets home. ❤️🐾
