I'm Alix, and I live right outside of Richmond Virginia. Both of my daughters, Shelby and Olivia, love to assist with the kitten rescue and care for the kittens. They are such a big help. Shelby, my older daughter, is my right hand when I cannot be here or if I am away at work. She has trained and learned closely beside me about proper neonate care for the last 3 years. She wishes to continue kitt

en rescue when she is an adult and out on her own! I work a full time job and a part time job, in addition to kitten rescue. Alix's Fosters is not yet a non profit, but that is the long term goal. Because of this, we don't qualify for grants or large business donations, just the help of the community with purchase off of our amazon supply wish list or venmo, cash app and paypal donations.

Someone didn’t make it until next week for delivery bc mamas kidneys were starting to suffer. So the night before last, I was admitted to Labor and delivery with the plan to deliver our sweet girl yesterday.

The possibility of her needing the Nicu worried me, but she does NOT 🎉🙏! 
We are head over heels in love with this little girl. Her brother and sisters spent the entire day at the hospital yesterday, awaiting her arrival. So many prayers answered 🎉

Baby update anyone ? And my afternoon with Shelby and Olivia 🥰

🙏Doctors appointment for 34 weeks went well today, then I was sent over to Labor and delivery for her first steroid shot to speed up the development of her lungs because my blood pressure is so unpredictable. Had a few small contractions but they stopped on their own and I was let go.
🤰These shots are just in case she has to come before our planned surgery date the week after next.
I will return to L&D tmrw for the final: shot number two. 
💅 The girls and I went to the nail salon that we always go to, to have their brows done before school tomorrow, and they actually turned down having their nails painted, which surprised me.
🎯Next was target to get an outfit for tomorrows first day of school. I actually don’t go crazy with back to school clothes because in a month, they’ll need fall. So we get them new shoes backpack that kind of stuff and then let them pick out a special something to wear.

34 weeks 🎉💗
2 weeks and change and we’ll meet our girl 🥰 (bc of my heart and BP)
She passed her Ultrasound/Biophysical profile test today with flying colors perfect 8/8 score doing all the things she supposed to like practice breathing!

Shelby has called baby that since day 1 as she taps my belly and says “wake up fishy!”

Several people either didn’t show or canceled last minute on our sweet Olivia’s birthday party 😡 Broke my heart for her, but I’m glad she at least had her closest friends there!
I was a little late announcing her birthday here compared to pasts so cards are just now trickling in which is completely fine because it means she gets to enjoy her birthday even longer! Thank you so much to Penny, Dale and Teri!!! She’s gonna love all of the extended birthday love ! 💗🎉🙏
