🚨 Welcome Regina to Off Leash K9 Training Dayton! 🚨

Meet Regina, a beautiful 4-year-old Staffordshire Terrier who has officially joined us for our Board & Train program!

Regina is a sweet girl at heart, but she comes with some very serious challenges. Her biggest issue is intense leash reactivity toward both people and other dogs. Walks have become so stressful that her owner avoids taking her anywhere, and if they happen to see someone while out, they immediately turn around and head home.

When Regina spots a person or dog, she transforms into a lunging, barking freight train at the end of the leash. Her reactions are powerful, emotional, and difficult for her owner to control. Unfortunately, this has greatly limited her ability to enjoy everyday activities and has made life stressful for everyone involved.

On top of that, Regina has very little obedience training. She barely knows “sit,” pulls constantly on the leash, jumps all over people at home, and struggles to settle down and relax. Her default setting is full speed ahead!

This won’t be an easy case. Serious reactivity takes time, patience, structure, and a clear training plan. But that’s exactly why Regina is here. Over the next few weeks we’ll be building her obedience foundation, teaching her how to make better decisions around distractions, and helping her learn that the world isn’t something she needs to react to.

Everyone welcome Remy to our 1-Week Board & Train Program! 🐾

Remy is a 3-year-old Staffy mix with a big personality and plenty of enthusiasm! He already knows “sit,” but sometimes his excitement gets the best of him, making it difficult for him to make good decisions in everyday situations. 😄

During his stay, we’ll be focusing on:
✔️ Reducing leash pulling
✔️ Improving recall
✔️ Better manners around people
✔️ Controlling excitement and impulse behaviors
✔️ Stopping jumping
✔️ Reducing barking
✔️ Staying out of the trash and making better choices around the house

Remy is a fun-loving boy who means well, but he’s learning that being calm and focused can open the door to even more freedom and fun. Over the next week, we’ll be helping him develop better habits, stronger obedience, and more self-control.

And just like his sister Coconut, Remy isn’t tackling this journey alone—they’re both here working on becoming the best versions of themselves! 🐶🐶

Coconut is a 2-year-old Pit Mix who already knows a few basics like “sit” and “down,” but she has a hard time containing her excitement when life gets fun! 😄

Her owners would like help with:

✔️ Learning to stay calm when excited
✔️ Reducing barking at other dogs
✔️ Improving focus and engagement with her handler

Coconut is a sweet, energetic girl who loves to be involved in everything going on around her. Over the next week, we’ll be helping her learn how to channel that excitement into better choices and more reliable behavior both at home and in public.

As an added bonus, Coconut isn’t here alone—she’s attending the program alongside her brother, Remy! We’re excited to work with both of them and watch their progress throughout the week.

🎓🐾 Congratulations, Rick! 🐾🎓

Today, Rick officially graduated from our 2-Week Board & Train Program!

Rick is a 4-year-old French Bulldog who came to us already knowing “sit,” but he struggled with leash pulling, excessive barking, and reactivity toward unfamiliar people. New environments and strangers often made him uncomfortable, causing him to become vocal and reactive when he felt unsure of a situation.

Over the last two weeks, Rick has worked hard to build confidence, improve his leash manners, and learn how to stay calm and focused around people. Through structured training and carefully planned outings to parks, stores, and public places, he learned that he doesn’t have to react to everything happening around him and can look to his handler for guidance instead.

One of Rick’s biggest accomplishments was learning to remain calm around strangers while practicing obedience in busy environments. While confidence-building is an ongoing journey, he made tremendous progress and showed us just how capable he is when given clear direction and consistency.

We’re incredibly proud of the effort Rick put into his training and the growth he showed throughout his program. Watching him become more relaxed, confident, and engaged has been a pleasure.

Congratulations on your graduation, Rick! We can’t wait to see you continue building on everything you’ve learned back at home. 💪🐶❤️

🔥🐾 Nero’s Before & After Transformation! 🐾🔥

If you’ve been following Nero’s journey, you know this transformation was about much more than obedience commands.

When Nero first arrived, this 6-month-old Cane Corso was struggling with significant reactivity toward unfamiliar people. He was easily spooked, suspicious of strangers, quick to growl, and would sometimes explode when he felt uncomfortable or threatened. His insecurities were beginning to shape how he viewed the world, and for a powerful breed like the Cane Corso, that can quickly become a serious issue if left unaddressed.

Fast forward to today…

The difference is incredible! 💪

In his before video, you’ll see a young dog who is unsure of himself, overly concerned about the people around him, and struggling to focus on his handler. In the after video, you’ll see a much calmer, more confident dog who can navigate public environments, hold commands around distractions, and look to his handler for guidance instead of reacting to every situation.

Did we change who Nero is? Absolutely not.

What we did was help him understand expectations, build confidence, and develop the skills needed to make better decisions. Training isn’t about creating a robot—it’s about creating communication, trust, and accountability.

Nero still has growing up to do, but his owners are now taking home a dog that has a solid foundation and a much better understanding of how to handle the world around him.

We’re incredibly proud of this young Cane Corso and all the hard work he’s put in over the last couple of weeks. The future is looking bright for this handsome boy! 🎓🐕🔥

🎓🐾 Congratulations Nero! 🐾🎓

Today marks graduation day for Nero, our handsome 6-month-old Cane Corso!

When Nero first came to us, he already knew a couple commands like Place and Down, but obedience wasn’t the biggest concern. Nero was struggling with reactivity toward unfamiliar people, often becoming nervous, suspicious, and overwhelmed in new situations. His insecurities would cause him to growl, react, and occasionally explode toward certain people. Being a young Cane Corso, it was critical to address these behaviors now before they had the opportunity to develop into true aggression as he matured.

Over the course of his training, Nero was exposed to countless new environments, people, sounds, and distractions. From busy stores to downtown outings and public parks, he learned how to stay calm, focused, and look to his handler for guidance instead of reacting to the world around him.

The biggest transformation wasn’t just in his obedience—it was in his confidence. 💪

Nero learned how to heel politely, hold commands around distractions, and enjoy new experiences without constantly feeling the need to be on guard. While no training program can magically erase a dog’s genetics or personality, Nero now has the structure, accountability, and communication he needs to be successful moving forward.

Most importantly, his owners now have the tools and knowledge to continue building on the foundation we’ve created together.

We’re incredibly proud of the progress Nero has made in such a short period of time. Underneath all that uncertainty was always a sweet, calm dog waiting to come out, and now everyone gets to see more of that side of him.

🏙️🐾 Nero Conquers Downtown Troy! 🐾🏙️

Today Nero took another big step forward in his training journey with a trip to downtown Troy!

For many dogs, a walk through downtown is no big deal. But for Nero, who has struggled with reactivity toward unfamiliar people and can be easily startled by new environments, this was a huge challenge. Busy sidewalks, people passing by, outdoor dining areas, traffic noises, and unexpected distractions around every corner created the perfect training opportunity.

We’re happy to report that Nero rose to the occasion! 💪

Throughout the outing, Nero worked on maintaining his obedience, staying focused on his handler, and learning that he doesn’t need to react to every person he sees. Instead of letting his insecurities take over, he practiced remaining calm and making better decisions when faced with situations that would have previously caused him stress.

One of the most rewarding parts of Nero’s training has been watching his confidence grow. The sweet, calm dog that’s always been underneath the reactivity is starting to shine through more and more with every outing.

While there’s still work to do, today’s trip to downtown Troy was another major win for this young Cane Corso. Every successful experience helps build trust, confidence, and reliability that will carry over into everyday life with his family.
