CLEAN UP AFTER YOUR DOG !! There are SEVENTEEN piles of p**p along the entrance path. I understand snow. I understand how difficult it can be handling a dog in this weather. But there is NO EXCUSE for this! Parks supplies waste bags for our use at stations at the entrance and each section. Parks takes great pride in this park and works hard to keep it nice for us. The least we can do is clean up our crap.
On the bright side, the Board of Commissioners when they approved the budget for 2026, included three permanent shade structures. There will be one for each area. Careful consideration will be made for placement in each area to maximize the shade benefit. These should be in by late spring hopefully.
Folks, I've worked for ten years with the Dog Park Committee, Park and Recreation Advisory Board, to convince the Commissioners to build this park. With the Daybreak Church helping to make this possible, I believe we have the best park in the area. So let's do our part to keep it nice. If you see a dog not being cleaned up after, say something. Thanks.
Jeff Williams, Chairman, Park and Recreation Advisory Board
