From all of us at MFVH, congratulations to this year's graduates! Reaching graduation takes hard work, determination, and plenty of perseverance, and we're excited to celebrate your achievement.

We'd also like to give a special shout-out to Dr. Jill's son, Sean on his graduation! We know how proud Dr. Jill and her family are of this accomplishment, and we're thrilled to celebrate this exciting milestone with them. We spotted this handsome gentleman showing off his finest feathers while trying to impress the ladies. Nature’s version of “look at me!” was on full display right outside our office window.

🌡️🐾 Heat + Humidity = Increased Risk for Our Pets 🐾🌡️

As temperatures rise, remember that it’s not just the heat—humidity can make it even harder for pets to cool themselves down.

Dogs and cats don’t sweat like we do. They rely primarily on panting to regulate their body temperature, and high humidity makes panting less effective. This can quickly lead to heat exhaustion or heat stroke.

🐶 Signs of overheating include:
• Excessive panting
• Drooling
• Weakness or lethargy
• Vomiting or diarrhea
• Bright red gums
• Difficulty breathing
• Collapse

☀️ Tips to keep your pets safe:
✔️ Walk dogs during the cooler morning or evening hours
✔️ Always provide fresh water and shade
✔️ Limit outdoor activity on hot, humid days
✔️ Avoid hot pavement that can burn paw pads
✔️ Never leave a pet unattended in a vehicle

Flat-faced breeds, senior pets, overweight pets, and those with heart or respiratory conditions are especially vulnerable to heat-related illness.

If you suspect your pet is overheating, move them to a cool area, offer small amounts of water, and contact us immediately.
