This sweet little guy was found on the 500 block of N Eby. He was found with a collar, but no tags, and he isn't microchipped. If you are the owner, or you know who the owner is please call the shelter or message us here on Facebook so we can get him home. Proof of ownership, such as a vet record is required to reclaim. Our phone number is 620-245-2583. We are open M-F 12-5:30 pm and Sat/Sun 1-5 pm.

PITTIE MYTH VS. FACT — MEET NALA! 🐶

Pit Bulls are some of the most misunderstood dogs in shelters. Too often, they're judged by their appearance and stereotypes instead of being given the chance to show their true personalities.

This Pit Bull Awareness Month, we're spreading education, understanding, and extra love for these often-overlooked pups! 💙

🐾 MYTH: All Pit Bulls are aggressive.
💙 FACT: Every dog is an individual! Behavior is influenced by genetics, experiences, environment, and training.

🐾 MYTH: Pit Bulls can't be loving companions.
💙 FACT: Many pitties are affectionate, playful, and eager to bond with their people.

🐾 MYTH: Pit Bulls can't live safely with children.
💙 FACT: Many pitties thrive in family homes! Every dog should be evaluated individually, and children and dogs should always be supervised together.

🐾 MYTH: You can judge a dog by its appearance.
💙 FACT: A breed label doesn't tell the whole story. Get to know the dog behind the label!

🐶 MEET NALA! 💙

Nala is a 3-year-old Bully mix who is sweet, smart, and full of energy! She loves attention, playtime, and tug-of-war. She's working on her leash skills and would thrive with an active family willing to provide structure, consistency, and continued training.

Nala tends to do better with male dogs than female dogs, and her compatibility with cats is unknown. Could she be your next adventure buddy? 🏡🐾

Nala deserves a chance to be loved for who she is—not judged by how she looks.

We’re so happy to see these sweet girls head home to families who will love and spoil them for years to come. 🏡🐶

This sweet girl was found on the 100 block of N Charles. She came in with no collar. She does have a microchip, but it is unregistered. If you are the owner or know who the owner is, please call us at 620-245-2583 or message us through Facebook. Proof of ownership, such as a vet record or picture, is required to reclaim. Our hours are Monday - Friday 12 pm - 5:30 pm as well as Saturday and Sunday from 1 pm - 5 pm.

🐾 OCTOBER IS ADOPT A SHELTER DOG MONTH! 🐾

This month, we’re shining a little extra light on two sweet girls who are still waiting for their forever families — Nala & Jasmine. 💕

🐶 Nala is a 3-year-old Bully mix who is sweet, smart, and full of personality. She’s an energetic girl who loves to play tug, spend time with her people, and is working hard on her leash skills. Nala would thrive with a family who can give her structure, consistency, exercise, and plenty of love.

🐶 Jasmine is a 3-year-old Lab/Pit mix and one of the sweetest girls you’ll meet. At around 35 pounds, she’s the perfect size for someone looking for a loving companion. Jasmine loves people and is always ready to soak up some attention. 💗

Both of these girls have so much love to give — they just need someone willing to give them the chance.

Adopt a shelter dog this October. You may come looking for a dog, but you could leave with your best friend. 🐾❤️

Chase is officially UP FOR ADOPTION! 🎉 This handsome 5-year-old male German Shepherd/Lab mix is the perfect combination of an easygoing companion and an adventure buddy. 🐕💙

Chase is a sweet, affectionate guy who absolutely loves his people. Give him some belly rubs, snuggle time, a game of fetch, or a nice long walk, and you’ll have one happy pup! 🥰 He thrives on human affection but also has an independent side, so he’s perfectly content to enjoy some downtime on his own, too.

Chase would love a home where he can enjoy plenty of snuggles, outdoor adventures, and quality time with his people. Whether you’re heading out for a long walk or settling in for some couch time, Chase is happy to be right there with you. 🏡❤️

This gentleman was found on the 300 block of west Northview. He isn't microchipped or wearing a collar, but has a pink bandana on. If you are the owner or you know who the owner is, please reach out to us either via Facebook or call the shelter at 620-245-2583 to get him home.
