Pacific North Woof Personalized dog training for easier day-to-day life
Rooted in trust, consistency & humane methods
📍 McMinnville + Yamhill County, OR

I started my career in California, first as a dog walker, where I quickly realized that so many of the behaviors I was seeing came down to communication, comfort, and understanding. That curiosity led me into training and behavior work, and I eventually became a certified trainer and behavior consultant. When I moved to Oregon, I knew I wanted to keep spending my days around animals — helping them feel calm, secure, and happy while their families are away. Today, I offer in-home pet sitting and Sit & Train services designed for dogs and cats who thrive best in their own familiar space. Whether you have a shy cat, a sensitive rescue, or a dog who needs a little structure while you’re gone, I provide the kind of care I’d want for my own animals — consistent, compassionate, and completely personalized. CATCH Certified Trainer from CATCH Canine Trainers Academy | Certified Trainer & Behavior Consultant through the Dog Training Internship Academy | Fear Free Certified Professional | Advanced Provider Pet First Aid & CPR Certified

My approach goes far beyond feeding schedules and walks — it’s about connection and comfort. I take the time to learn what helps your dog or cat feel safe and supported, so they can relax while you’re away. When it comes to training, I only use positive reinforcement techniques that help build trust and confidence. I do not use corrective or punishing methods — no prong collars, no shock or e-collars. My goal is to make learning fun, motivating, and confidence-building for the animals I work with. Training should be something your dog enjoys and wants to keep practicing, not something they have to endure. For Sit & Train clients, that same philosophy guides every session. I focus on helping dogs build real-life skills while laying the foundation for continued progress long after the stay ends. Every animal has their own personality, history, and needs. My job is to meet them where they are and help them feel at ease. Whether it’s a cat who likes quiet company or a dog who needs a mix of play and structure, I adapt to what works best for them.

A review like this means so much. 💛

Dog training isn’t just about teaching your dog what to do. It’s about helping you understand what your dog is communicating, giving you practical tools, and making everyday life together feel a whole lot easier.

I loved getting to work with Team Papi and watching their confidence grow as a team. That’s always the goal: real progress that carries over into real life—not just during our training sessions.

If you’ve been feeling stuck with your dog’s behavior, you don’t have to keep trying to piece it together on your own.

🐾 I am currently accepting new dog training clients in McMinnville and throughout Yamhill County for Fall 2026.

🍂 Fall training spots are open!

I’m currently accepting new dog training clients for September and beyond in McMinnville and throughout Yamhill County.

Whether you’re working through leash pulling, barking, jumping, reactivity, puppy chaos, confidence-building, or simply want everyday life with your dog to feel a little easier, now is a great time to get started.

All training begins with a 90-minute Initial Training Consultation so we can look at the full picture, talk through your goals, and create a plan that fits your dog and your household.

From there, you can continue with:

🐾 Coaching — for dog parents who want hands-on guidance while learning how to train their own dog

🐾 Day Training — for families who want me to do more of the hands-on training and help build the foundation for you

And if you’re already thinking ahead to holiday guests, gatherings, and a busier house, fall is the perfect time to start working on those skills now—not the week before everyone arrives. 😉

Not sure which option is right for you?

Book a free 20-minute discovery call and let’s chat about your dog, your goals, and how I can help.

Pet sitting Ollie & Shadow this weekend, and we decided to take a field trip to decompress a little more since the neighborhood walks were a little too stimulating for Shadow. So we checked out a really awesome local Sniffspot located in Yamhill

A little more about the human behind Pacific North Woof. 👋

I actually spent years working as a hairstylist before meeting my now-husband, Josh, who owned his own dog walking business at the time. I was already completely over salon life, so stepping into the pet industry felt like a pretty natural escape route—and apparently I never looked back.

Josh and I eventually ran a dog training business together in San Francisco, but when the pandemic hit, we closed things down and moved to McMinnville in December 2020.

After the move, I took about 4.5 years away from training and working with other people’s dogs while growing my other business, Woof Cultr —an apparel brand made for dog people who care about humane, force-free training and aren’t afraid to be a little loud about it. 😉 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗲𝘀, 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸 𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝘁.

Then, in October 2025, I officially launched Pacific North Woof and found my way back to the work I had missed so much.

When I’m not working, I want to be outside as much as possible. Thankfully, my dog Fern is an all-seasons kind of gal. Rainy hikes, muddy trails, cold walks—she is in, and honestly, so am I.

As a trainer, I’m here for the dog parents who want to better understand the dog in front of them.

The people who know training does not change everything overnight.

The people willing to stay consistent, use thoughtful management, learn canine body language, understand their dog’s thresholds, respect when their dog is uncomfortable, and make changes that help their dog feel safer and more successful.

As a Certified Fear Free Professional, I’m deeply committed to giving dogs agency and choice, reducing fear and stress, and building trust rather than forcing compliance.

Because good training is not about controlling every move your dog makes.

It’s about learning how to listen, communicate, and create a life that works better for both of you.

So, that’s me. Former hairstylist, dog and cat mom, rainy-hike enthusiast, small-business supporter, and trainer who will absolutely get excited when your dog has one tiny-but-very meaningful win. 🐾

🤨Wondering what happens after a Training Consultation?

The consultation is the first step in the process. It gives me a chance to meet you and your dog, understand what’s going on in your home, talk through your goals, and create a realistic plan for moving forward.

From there, continued training typically looks one of two ways:

1️⃣ Private follow-up lessons are a great fit if you want coaching, guidance, and support while you practice with your dog yourself.

2️⃣ Day training may be a better fit if you want more hands-on help from me during the week, especially if your schedule is full or you’d like your dog to get more structured training practice between sessions.
*For more complex behaviors like reactivity or confidence building I recommend day training so that I can set a solid foundation for you to move forward with.

There isn’t a one-size-fits-all answer. Some dogs and families do best with private lessons. Some benefit from day training. Some may use a combination over time.

That’s why we start with the consultation — so I can recommend the option that actually makes sense for your dog, your goals, and your real life.

📆 🎟️ If you’re ready for support with your dog, the first step is booking a Training Consultation! 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗼𝗴 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗶𝗻 𝗯𝗶𝗼 𝗼𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗻𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵𝘄𝗼𝗼𝗳.𝗰𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲!

🫠Training advice on the internet can only take you so far.

Because your dog isn’t living in a generic situation.

They’re living in your home, walking through your neighborhood, reacting to your visitors, following your routines, and struggling in very specific moments that deserve more than a one-size-fits-all tip.

That’s why I start with a training consultation.

🖼️ It gives me a chance to see the bigger picture: what’s happening, when it’s happening, what your dog may be communicating, what patterns are showing up, and what kind of support actually makes sense.

Whether your dog is barking on walks, jumping on guests, pulling you down the sidewalk, growling, struggling to settle, or seeming overwhelmed by everyday life — you don’t have to keep guessing.

The goal of the consultation is to help you leave with clarity, direction, and a plan you can actually start using.

If I could choose three skills to focus on with almost any family dog, I’d start here:

Check-ins.
Settle.
Recall.

Not because they’re the fanciest behaviors, but because they make such a difference in everyday life.

A dog who can check in with you has an easier time staying connected around distractions.

A dog who can settle has a useful skill for visitors, meals, work calls, and busy moments at home.

A dog with a stronger recall has an important safety skill that can help in the real world.

These are the kinds of skills that support daily life with your dog — not just “obedience” for the sake of obedience.

If you want your dog to feel easier to live with, more connected on walks, and more responsive when it matters, training can help you build those foundations.

🌞 🕶️To kick off Memorial Day, let’s talk about something that comes up a lot this time of year:

Does your dog want to be at the BBQ (or any event/holiday gathering/brewery)?

Memorial Day weekend often means backyard hangouts, patios, family gatherings, food, kids running around, people coming and going, and a lot more activity than usual.

For some dogs, that kind of environment is fun.

They love the attention.
They love the people.
They settle in easily and enjoy being part of the day.

For other dogs, it can feel like way too much.

They may bark, pace, jump, hide, pull toward people, pull away from people, tuck themselves under a chair, struggle to settle, or seem constantly on alert.

And that doesn’t mean your dog is “bad.”

It means they may need a different setup, more support, or more practice before busy social events feel manageable.

🐾Sometimes the kindest choice is bringing your dog along with a plan.
💕Sometimes the kindest choice is setting them up in a quiet space with something to work on while the gathering happens elsewhere.

And if you want your dog to feel more prepared for real-life situations like BBQs, patios, visitors, and summer outings, training can help.
