Couple of nice deer leaving the shop

I done something today that I have wanted to do for two years. I got my deer “Officially” scored by TWRA agent Mr. Layton. After looking at my deer in my shop for two years he started to shrink slightly in my eyes. It takes 165 to make Tennessee record books with a rifle and I had rough scored him at 164 6/8. When we started to score I started to second guess my score thinking he may be more towards the 150’s. Come to find out my deer officially scores 174 3/8’s. I’m blown away. As a child I dreamed of killing a 170 class deer. I feel very lucky and very blessed. Thank you Mr. Layton for making my evening!

I️ want to wish everyone Good Luck this weekend and remember this hot weather is hard on your kill. If you do take a velvet buck get it gutted and ice in the cavity as quickly as possible. (Do not split near the brisket) if you’re nervous about skinning your deer properly you can call me or look on YouTube for proper ways to skin your Buck for a mount. I️ recommend getting your deer in a freezer or to a taxidermist as quickly as possible. Velvet bucks will cost 450 for a full shoulder mount Non velvet Bucks/deer 350 full shoulder.
