Our Dogs Depend on Us to Speak Up for Them
An important message to our poodle families from my heart. ❤️🐾
I used Simparica Trio for years, loved it, and regularly recommended it. However, I’ve now heard from seven families reporting suspected reactions after their dogs received it, and I feel it’s important to share our experience.
The symptoms families have reported include vomiting, diarrhea, and decreased appetite. In one heartbreaking case, a beloved poodle passed away, and her guardian family believes the medication was responsible. I cannot confirm that Simparica Trio caused these illnesses or that loss, but these reports have deeply concerned me.
Because of these experiences, I made the personal decision to stop using Simparica Trio for our poodles in our home. We are now using K9 Armor by K9 Keep for heartworm prevention, as part of our approach to flea and tick protection we are still searching.
Please discuss any concerns with your veterinarian and work with them to choose appropriate heartworm, flea, and tick protection. If your dog develops symptoms after a dose, contact your vet promptly. Ask your vet about reporting suspected reactions to the manufacturer and FDA.
My intention is to encourage awareness and conversations with your veterinarian. We love our poodles and their families. 🙏❤️🐩
