Vacation With Jack

It is with deep sadness that we announce that our beloved namesake, Jack - the neighborhood "old man" crossed over the rainbow bridge on Sunday morning. Our hearts are broken but we know that he is free from being blind, deaf and having doggy dementia. He is running free in heaven with all of his camper friends, as well as his besties like Harvey Dog, Shelton, Toby, Fenway and Odie Spunkmeyer Quinn who have crossed over before him.

Jack was his own man - as everyone in the neighborhood knew. In his younger years, he would carry his "doggie" with him on his leashless walks. Often waiting for Grammy at the corner. If Grammy stopped to chit chat with neighbors a bit longer than Jack would like, he would walk himself back home - waiting on his pillow in the driveway. He loved to sit on his pillow in the driveway and watch the neighbors go by. He was truly a gift from God - our little Jack, Jack-a-rooney, Jackie Draper, Jack Roone', Rooney Tunes.

We are so grateful for the 13 years that we had with Jack and he will be missed by many who got the chance to meet and love him. We know it will take a long time for us to go through the grieving process - but we find comfort in knowing he is pain free and with all of his friends in heaven.

To all of our Campers - Grammy and Jack have moved from Texas to South Carolina and will not be able to host any campers in Texas. We have loved offering a special places for your doggies to stay while you went on vacation and deeply miss all of our campers.

Grammy and Jack would like to wish all of our dogs and their HOOMANS a Happy Thanksgiving! Jack said he would pray that scraps would fall from the table for his camper friends this holiday! We love ya'll!

It is with great sadness that we remember sweet little Bo Forte, who crossed over the Rainbow Bridge on May 21, 2023. Bo knew his Hooman, Beth Klompus Forte loved him so much and was so dedicated to him. Bo was almost 17 Hooman years old - making him 119 in dog years. Run and play without worry Bo. Watch over your Hoomans. We miss you already.

It is with a very heavy heart that we announce that Vacation with Jack camper, and a life-long friend of Jack's, Shelton Ghattas, has crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. Shelton's Hooman, Wendy Ghattas, has been "family" to us for the past 22 years - before Jack and Shelton rescued me and Wendy. We will miss our beloved Shelton but know that he is playing in heaven and watching over his Hoomans and our campers. Rest in Peace sweet Shelton. Our deepest sympathies to Wendy and the Ghattas family. Love from Grammy and Jack.
