The Carroll County Humane Society is a no-kill animal shelter in McKenzie, Tennessee with no-kill being defined as not euthanizing for time or space. This means no animal is euthanized because they have been at the shelter too long or to make room for another animal waiting to come in. If there is a need to euthanize, it is on a case by case basis relating to health and temper. We are a 501(c)(3)

non-profit organization, with funding coming entirely from private contributions, bequeaths, fundraising and grants.

Can you help us find Rip?

Rip’s family recently moved to the Hagler Ridge Rd area in Springville, and he has been missing since around April 21st. He may have tried to make his way back to their old home.

McKenzie area could be another place to be on the watch for Rip. He may have hitched a ride đź«Ł

Rip is a BIG boy (around 17 pounds) so he’s not too hard to miss! He is microchipped.

Please keep an eye out in the area, check garages, barns, sheds, porches, and under vehicles. Even if you only think you may have seen him, please message us or comment.

🚨 FOSTERS NEEDED 🚨

This is how FAST kitten season happens… 3 cats can turn into 18 before you know it.

Right now we are looking for fosters for these sweet families:

Momma + 3 kittens (6 weeks old)
This would be a GREAT starter foster group for someone new to fostering or someone who wants an easier setup. Mom is doing great and the kittens are getting bigger every day!

Momma + 7 kittens (5 weeks old)
We would prefer an experienced foster for this busy bunch. That’s a lot of tiny paws and hungry mouths!

Momma + 5 kittens (4 weeks old)
Also looking for an experienced foster for this family since the kittens are still younger and need a little more monitoring and care.

Do you have an extra room, bathroom, office, or spare corner of your home? We can use your help! We provide ALL food, litter, supplies, and anything else you need. You provide the safe space and love.

Help us help these 18 amazing animals make it safely to adoption day. Fostering truly saves lives and yes, kitten cuddles are included.

Marghie!

If you have been following her story you know she was found as a stray grossly underweight and with her back leg twisted backwards. Her leg was unsalvageable, and during surgery, vets found multiple bullet fragments throughout her body.

Marghie is still sweet as can be and was wonderful throughout her treatment journey. She is now looking for a forever home that she so deserves. Her previous foster stated she is friendly with other dogs and kids.

🚨Lost Dog🚨

Last seen on Winston Rd. outside of Mckenzie,TN on Tuesday, May 5th 2026. It's possible someone saw him wandering in the rain yesterday and picked him up.

He has a white face, chest, and two front legs. The very tip of one ear has white on it.

His name is Mowgli, but we call him MoMo.
