When families ask what a puppy goes home with, clear health-start information matters. Kathy states that every puppy has its first canine 5 and coronavirus shot and is dewormed before going home. She also states that she guarantees your puppy for genetic defects for 1 year.

That kind of clarity helps families know what questions to ask next with their own veterinarian and what to expect as they prepare to welcome a puppy home.

Did you know the AVMA says there are nearly 90 million canine companions in the United States?[4] That helps explain why families put so much thought into finding the right dog and the right start.

Kathy's Kountry Kennel focuses on breeding good healthy family dogs that are raised in the home, socialized, and placed locally rather than shipped. For families in northern Illinois and the Chicago suburbs, that personal approach can mean a lot.

Did you know preliminary AVMA data showed 86.8% of dog owners identified as having a regular veterinarian or veterinary practice?[5] That says a lot about how seriously families take their dogs' ongoing care.

Kathy gives puppies a thoughtful start before they go home. Every puppy has its first canine 5 and coronavirus shot and is dewormed before going home. For local families, that early care is part of choosing a good healthy family dog.

Did you know the latest AVMA data says 45.5% of U.S. households include dogs? That is one reason so many families already understand what a good healthy family dog can bring to daily life.[3]

For families in northern Illinois and the Chicago suburbs, bringing home a puppy is not just about the moment you choose one. It is about finding a puppy raised to be happy, healthy and well adjusted from the very beginning. Kathy raises her dogs in the home and welcomes in-person visits for families who want to learn more.

After 23 years of breeding, we chose to specialize in Cockapoos and mini Goldendoodles because they consistently prove to be the ultimate family companions. They combine high intelligence with affectionate personalities and low-shedding coats. They are adaptable, eager to please, and thrive in a home environment—exactly what most families are searching for.

Some puppies are unforgettable at first glance. A black-and-white coat, bright expression, and soft little face can stop you in your scroll immediately.

But the real hope is that the puppy behind that photo has also been given the kind of beginning that helps it become a happy, healthy and well adjusted companion. That is what Kathy works toward with every family dog she raises at home.
