Today the Golden Retriever community lost a very special one. Rest in peace Tucker Budzyn
To some ..Tucker may have been “just a dog “ but to millions of people around the world, he was so much more. He brought laughter, comfort, happiness, and a love for Golden Retrievers into homes everywhere.
As Golden Retriever breeders, this loss hits a little differently. Tucker became one of the most recognizable Golden Retrievers in the world and introduced so many people to everything that makes this breed so special their goofy personalities, their loyalty, their gentleness, and their incredible ability to bring joy simply by being themselves.
I truly believe Tucker played a part in an entire generation of families falling in love with Golden Retrievers. Many people saw Tucker and thought, “I want a Golden Retriever someday.” His presence helped shine a light on this wonderful breed and, in doing so, helped breeders like us share that same love with families of our own.
But Tucker’s impact went far beyond the breed. Millions of people watched him grow up. They laughed at his videos, followed his adventures, watched his family grow, and felt as though they knew him personally. That is an incredible legacy for one dog to leave behind.
Eight years was nowhere near long enough, but Tucker filled those years with more love, laughter, and impact than most could ever imagine.
Our hearts are with Courtney, Mike, Todd, and the entire Budzyn family as they grieve such an unimaginable loss. Thank you for sharing Tucker with the world and allowing millions of us to love him alongside you.
Tucker, you helped make the world fall a little more in love with Golden Retrievers, and your paw prints will be left on this community forever. 🤍
