Paws and Claws Humane Society Paws and Claws Humane Society Paws and Claws Humane Society of McGehee has been saving the lives of unwanted dogs and cats in southeast Arkansas since 1994.

Through our non-profit organization, thousands of stray and abandoned animals have found the loving homes they deserve. Through private donations and grants, we are able to offer financial assistance to pet owners for spaying and neutering dogs and cats in Desha and Chicot counties. In 2017, our rescue joined forces with two rescue organizations in New England to make an even larger positive impact in our community with our transport program. This program enables us to find loving northern homes for hundreds of unwanted dogs and cats each year. In 2019 alone, nearly 500 homeless and unwanted rescue animals were adopted by loving families. Our volunteers are committed to rescuing and rehabilitating even more dogs and cats this year. While many of our rescue animals are puppies, Paws and Claws is also committed to rescuing and rehabilitating older adult dogs, many of whom are suffering from heart worm disease. We provide the medical treatment and housing these dogs need so they too can live the lives they deserve. While heart worm treatment can be costly and time consuming, our Paws and Claws volunteers and our financial supporters believe our efforts make a difference. There are many ways you can help support our mission. Financial donations are completely tax deductible and every penny donated goes directly to the care of our rescue animals. We also encourage families in our area to become a part of our foster program. Fostering our dogs and cats short term enables them to not only receive the care they need, but allows them to learn to trust humans so they will be ready for their forever homes. A HUGE thank you to Mcgehee Elementary School 2nd and 3rd grade classes! They collected over ONE HUNDRED POUNDS of treats and over ONE HUNDRED toys and blankets for the rescue pups and kitties of Paws & Claws. Some of our volunteers along with Pepper the rescue dog met with students and teachers to collect the donations today and students had the chance to win prizes by answering questions about the book they read, Madeline Finn and the Shelter Dog. ❤️🐶

We had an amazing family from another state who ALWAYS baked sooooo many goodies. This year has been super hard on them and the timing couldn’t align as it has in the past. Soooo they decided to donate gift baskets to raffle off! These baskets honor a very special woman who we recently lost who had a Paws & Claws rescue of her very own. She never hesitated to help us when we needed anything and was such a wonderful and special supporter of ours. Not only did her family in the state of Missouri donate, her family in both Michigan and Wisconsin donated in her honor as well for our Annual Bake Sale! Here are some pics of the baskets with EACH of them valued at NO LESS THAN $300.00 a piece. FOUR baskets valued at least $300 a basket equals $1200.00. Let’s show this wonderful woman who was an Angel on Earth and now watching over us from Heaven how special her gifts and her family and friends are to us! If you like expensive perfume, jewelry, Korean skincare, Boujee drink holders, St. Tropez self-tanning full sets, and Moroccan Oil hair care products we are booth to see tomorrow!
🎟️1 ticket for $10 or 3 for 25!
🐶You do not have to be present to win!
💵We will also be accepting Cashapp tomorrow!
