This is our newest rescue Buffy, a female Russian tortoise! She came to us from our friends over at Exotic Pets OKC 😊 Someone surendered her to the store after having her for a few years. The owner only fed her lettuce every other day. Those owners acquired it from someone else who we believe fed a high protein diet. It looks like Buffy has a vitamin A deficiency and is underweight. We have started with carrot soaks and lots of time outside! She is starting to eat and is starting to be a bit more active. We are excited for her journey!

April already?!? 🌼🌻🌸 Time for another animal highlight. We are ALMOST done with aquatic turtles, just a few more friends left! This is Crumb! He is a male Northern Diamondback Terrapin (Malaclemys terrapin terrapin). He came to us on July 11th, 2024! He weighs about 572 grams.

For the month of March we would like to introduce Muriel. She is a female yellow-bellied slider (Trachemys scripta scripta). She weighs about 675 grams. She came to us as our first aquatic turtle! She has lived in our 1,000 gallon koi pond for about 3 years. Currently she is in a temporary 150 gallon tank while we build her a 10,000 gallon pond!

Happy New Years everyone!🎉🎊 One of our 2026 New Year’s resolutions is to be more active on our page.😅 We are going to try to do a monthly or biweekly “meet the animals” post. This will highlight some of the unique species and individuals we house! 🐍🦎🐢🪳🐟🐠

We work full time jobs outside the rescue and have two children. It is often easy to forget to post on our page. We hope by posting more frequently more people will discover us.

We have been avoiding making this post for about a week now. We are sad to say we suffered our first major loss. Henry was a male bearded dragon and was the first reptile we rescued. We adopted him around 7 years ago. He was dropped off at a pet store after his original owners decided they didn’t want him anymore. He had an infection from a missing piece of his tail, was very malnutrished, and had mouth rot. The store released him to us and we took him to his first vet appointment. His tail mostly healed but the tip remained stiff and curled up. With medication the infection went away. His mouth rot however was a constant battle. Regardless, overall he made a very good recovery.

Henry was a very goofy lizard and constantly made us laugh. He loved people, never acted aggressive or stressed, and was a great part of our family. We will miss you very much Henry. May you rest in peace. ❤️

Seems like we are slowly becoming a tortoise rescue 😂 We recently acquired ANOTHER Russian tortoise! We believe they are all male and all have their own enclosures.
