Yesterday was our feral/barn cat day, and our team spayed/neutered 19 feral kitties! So proud of our crew and all the hard work they put in to make a difference for these cats and our community! ❤️

A HUGE thank you to our awesome Patterson Veterinary rep, Kendra, for sponsoring lunch for our team yesterday! 🥰 We appreciate you for so many reasons and for helping make our Tech Week extra special!

We’re so lucky to have such a hardworking team, and we’ve loving getting to celebrate them this week! We’ve also indulged in a dirty soda bar and an ice cream bar this week! All because this team deserves to be spoiled! 💚

Today we’re celebrating Kali!! 🎉

Kali started her veterinary journey back in 2012 as a senior in high school, interning at a local veterinary clinic. At the time, she thought she wanted to become a veterinarian, but then she discovered there were nurses for animals! And just like that, she found her calling! Turns out, she made the RIGHT choice!

As soon as she graduated high school, Kali attended the vet tech program at Rockford Carreer College and graduated in 2015!

Kali absolutely loves what she does and puts her heart and soul into her work every single day. Her biggest passion is shelter medicine and helping the animals who are often overlooked or less fortunate. Giving these pets the care, compassion, and second chances they deserve is what makes this work so special to her. 🥹❤️

She also loves getting to know her patients and their people, treating every pet as if they were her very own. She understands that every pet is different, and what works for one family may not work for another. She loves working with pet parents to find the best approach for their individual pet, taking into account their lifestyle, needs, and what works best for them. Because at the end of the day, veterinary care isn't one size fits all, and every pet deserves a plan that works for them! 🐾

Help us show Kali some love this Tech Week!! ❤️

Today we’re shining the spotlight on Stephanie!! 🥰 While she’s new to our veterinary clinic team as of this month, she’s definitely not new to the Just Animals family! ❤️

Steph started on the shelter side back in 2018, so some of our shelter friends may already recognize her familiar face! 🐱 Over the years, she’s developed a huge love for fostering and helping rescue kitties get their second chance at life.

One of Steph’s favorite things is seeing the transformation these cats go through, from arriving in rough shape to becoming healthy, happy kitties who are ready to find their forever homes. There’s something pretty special about watching an animal go from just surviving to finally thriving!

Now, we’re excited to have Steph bringing that same love and compassion over to the clinic side! We’re happy to have her as part of our team and can’t wait to see all the ways she’ll continue making a difference for our patients.

Help us show Steph some love in the comments! 🐾❤️

Next up, we’re celebrating Kristie!! 🎉 And you might want to sit down for this one… Kristie has been in the veterinary field since 1986!!! 😱🤯 YES, YOU READ THAT RIGHT!! Talk about YEARS of experience! 🙌

Kristie joined our team when we opened in November, and we are so happy to have her experience, knowledge, and love for animals as part of our crew! ❤️

One of her favorite parts of veterinary medicine is assisting with and monitoring surgeries. There’s a whole lot that goes into keeping our patients safe during surgery, and having experienced team members like Kristie is SO important!

And if you know Kristie, you know she has a HUGE soft spot for bully breeds! 🥹🐶 She has two of her own at home, Chevelle and Nova, who are lucky enough to get all that love outside of work, too! 💚🐾

Kristie, thank you for bringing your passion for helping animals and your big heart to our team. We’re so glad you’re part of the Just Animals family! 🥰

Help us show Kristie some love for Tech Week in the comments!! 💕

It's National Veterinary Technician Week and we are ready to spot light each of our technicians and assistants!

We’re kicking off Tech Week by celebrating someone who is an absolute MUST HAVE on our team… Mikayla, aka MICKEY!! ❤️

Mickey started her veterinary journey in 2021 as a volunteer at the Just Animals Shelter next door. It didn’t take long for her to realize that animal care was something she truly loved, and in 2022, she became one of our shelter’s cat caretakers! 🐱

When we opened last November, we got to steal her away to the clinic side, where she became one of our veterinary assistants! And let us tell you… we are so glad we did!

Mickey has grown SO much since she started, and watching her continue to learn, gain confidence, and build her skills has been amazing. She has such an important place on our team, and honestly, we couldn't imagine doing this without her! 💚

Her journey isn't stopping here, either! Mickey is preparing to pursue her education through Penn Foster with the goal of one day becoming a Certified Veterinary Technician! 🎓🐾 We are so excited to see where this next chapter takes her!

Mickey, thank you for everything you do for our patients, our team, and Just Animals. Your hard work, your growth, and the heart you put into what you do does not go unnoticed. We are SO lucky to have you! 💚

Help us kick off Tech Week by showing Mickey some love in the comments! 🐾

We had an absolute BLAST joining the Shorewood-Troy Public Library for their Superhero Storytime! 💚

We loved getting to read with the kids, answer all the wonderful questions from both children and parents, and share a little peek into what we do every day at Just Animals Veterinary Clinic. 🩺🐶🐱

The kids even got to “adopt” their very own stuffed puppies and kittens to take home! But if you ask us, the biggest hit was getting to dress up in our very own veterinary gear! 😷🧤

A HUGE thank you to the Shorewood-Troy Public Library for inviting us to be part of such a fun event, and to all the parents and kiddos who came out, asked questions, participated, and made the evening so special!

We love getting opportunities to connect with our community, help kids learn about animal care, and maybe even inspire a few future veterinary superheroes along the way! 🦸🐾
