CODE RED. ANYONE IN ATLANTIC CITY who can help with this situation? Volunteers feeding at Stanley Holmes Village very early yesterday heard the cries of kittens coming from the crawl space under a building. The only access to the basement is from inside. When the office opened the maintenance people put them off all day, the person with the key wasn't in yet, THEN near end of day told only animal control or police could have the key. Animal control did arrive as the office was closing, given a key, and told to put in the outside drop box when done. It was not the right key. Police have not been able to help. The housing authority office stated that maintenance will only come out if it's an emergency. One of the tenants called to report the kitten emergency and was told kittens crying is not an emergency and see ya Monday. The kittens' cries this morning are very faint, they are most likely dying. Police help has again been requested this morning, but stated maintenance needs to come and not likely to happen. THIS THIS is what is wrong with our cities, our world today. There is no caring, no compassion allowing animals to suffer, empty souls. If there is anyone in Atlantic City who may have a suggestion as to how we can get to these kittens to save their lives please call: 609-425-0058, 609-727-7702, 609-412-2689.
