🐐🐐 THE GOAT HAS ENTERED THE CHAT. 😂

Goats are curious, clever, mischievous little characters who are always finding new ways to keep their humans on their toes. If you own goats, you already know that “What did you eat now?!” is basically a full-time job. 🤦‍♀️🌿

But behind those adorable faces and questionable life choices, goats need good veterinary care, too!

🐐 A few things every goat owner should know:

🌿 Not everything green is goat-approved! Some plants are toxic, so make sure your pasture and browse are safe.

💉 Vaccines matter! Talk with your veterinarian about a vaccination plan, including protection against common clostridial diseases and tetanus.

🦷 Parasites are no joke. Goats are especially susceptible to certain internal parasites. Work with your veterinarian on monitoring and treatment instead of blindly deworming the whole herd.

🐾 Hoof care is important! Regular checks and trimming when needed help keep those little hooves healthy and comfortable.

🥣 Feed for their needs! Goats need appropriate minerals and balanced nutrition. Remember, sheep and goats don’t always have the same mineral requirements, so don’t assume their feed and mineral mixes are interchangeable!

And please, for the love of all things barnyard, don’t let your goat convince you that eating your shirt is a sign of affection. 😂👕

At Muddy Dog Veterinary Hospital, we believe your farm animals deserve quality veterinary care, too!

🐐 Need veterinary care for your goats? Ask us about our farm call services! We love helping keep your barnyard crew healthy.

🥵🐶 HEY, FLAT-FACED FRIENDS… THIS ONE’S FOR YOU! 🐶🥵

It’s been nice and cool this week, but North Carolina weather loves to keep us on our toes! 🌤️☀️ With warmer temperatures headed our way, we need to talk about our brachycephalic buddies!

That’s the fancy veterinary term for our short-nosed, smoosh-faced favorites like:
🐾 French Bulldogs
🐾 English Bulldogs
🐾 Pugs
🐾 Boston Terriers
🐾 Boxers
🐾 Shih Tzus

We LOVE those squishy faces, but those adorable little snouts can make it harder for these pups to breathe efficiently and cool themselves down. That means they can overheat much faster than other dogs, even when you think it’s not that hot outside!

☀️ A few warm-weather reminders for our flat-faced friends:

💧 Keep the water flowing! Fresh, cool water should always be available.

🏡 Enjoy the AC! Outdoor adventures are best kept short when temperatures climb.

🚶 Walk smart! Stick to early mornings or cooler evenings, and skip strenuous exercise in the heat.

🚗 Never leave them in a parked car. Not even for a quick errand!

👀 Know the warning signs! Excessive panting, noisy or difficult breathing, heavy drooling, weakness, vomiting, or collapse can signal overheating. If you notice these signs, move your pup somewhere cool and seek veterinary care immediately. Trouble breathing or collapse is an emergency!

And remember: just because your pup wants to play fetch doesn’t mean their body is ready for the encore. 😂🎾

Let’s keep those squishy faces happy, healthy, and COOL as our Carolina temperatures start climbing! 🧊🐾

🧡🧡 GINGERS UNITE! 🧡🧡

Today’s mission at Muddy Dog Veterinary Hospital? Operation: Get Chandler in the Bathtub. 🛁😂

When it takes a whole team of gingers to convince one naked cat that bath time is NOT a personal attack… you know it’s going to be a day. 🤣

Chandler would like to file a formal complaint with management. The gingers, however, stand united in their commitment to cleanliness. 💪🧡

One cat. A whole lot of attitude. And absolutely ZERO appreciation for the spa treatment.

Stay tuned… we may need to call in reinforcements. 😂🐈

🥹🐾 EXCUSE ME…WHO GAVE YOU PERMISSION TO BE THIS CUTE?!

Just look at that sweet little Pitty face! 😍❤️

Those squishy cheeks.
Those puppy-dog eyes.
That adorable little nose.
And that face that says, “I definitely deserve another treat.” 😂

We’re pretty sure Pit Bulls have perfected the art of looking completely innocent while simultaneously convincing everyone in the room that they need ALL the love, snacks, and belly rubs. 🥰

And honestly…we’re not arguing. 😂🐾

❤️ Sweet face. Big personality. Even bigger heart.

Give that face a little extra love today! 🐶💋

👀 Monica’s got her eye on you…

She may look innocent sitting over here by the sink, but we all know she’s keeping tabs on everyone. 😂🐱

And today, she has a little reminder for you as temperatures start to cool:

🦟 DON’T STOP HEARTWORM PREVENTION JUST BECAUSE IT’S FALL! ❤️

Here in North Carolina, mosquitoes can stick around well into the cooler months. We don’t get enough consistently hard freezes to count on them disappearing for good—and those pesky mosquitoes are responsible for spreading heartworms. 🦟➡️❤️

Heartworm disease is serious, potentially life-threatening, and preventable. So don’t let cooler temperatures trick you into thinking your pet is automatically in the clear!

🐶🐱 Keep heartworm prevention on schedule year-round unless your veterinarian specifically recommends otherwise.

And if finding time for a wellness visit is the hard part, we’ve got you! 👀

🗓️ Wellness appointments available Sundays
⏰ Extended hours Monday, Thursday & Friday until 7 PM
🚗 Drop-off appointments available

Need a refill or want to make sure your pet is protected? Call, message, or book online! 🐾❤️

Monica will be watching. 👀
We’ll be watching. 👀
And hopefully, you’ll keep watching those heartworm preventatives! 😂

🚨 WELLNESS CHECK: HUMAN EDITION 🚨

Our team has officially been hit by the “everybody get sick at the same time” bug. 🤧 And while we love our patients, we’ve decided our staff probably shouldn’t be running on coffee, cough drops, and sheer determination. 😂

So, to give our team a little extra time to rest, recover, and hopefully get everyone back to full strength:

🐾 Friday: closing early at 6:00 PM

We know schedule changes can be inconvenient, and we’re incredibly grateful for your patience and understanding while we take care of our Muddy Dog family.

Thank you for giving our team a little grace, a lot of understanding, and hopefully a few good vibes for a speedy recovery. ❤️

We appreciate you — more than you know! 🐶🐱❤️

Now, everybody go wash your hands… and maybe send our staff some chicken soup. 😂🥣🐾
