Mayfield Pet Hospital Welcome to Mayfield Pet Hospital!

“Compassionate quality care for dogs and cats and the people who love them since 1955! That’s not what we’re about. to 5 p.m.

Since our formation in 1955, Mayfield Pet Hospital has served the needs of tens of thousands of dogs and cats and their owners. In 2011, senior veterinarian and owner Dr. James Ringer retired and the practice was taken over by Dan Winger who has worked at Mayfield Pet Hospital for 26 years. As Dan says, “A lot of veterinarian practices can seem cold and can leave people with the feeling that they’re all about the money. At Mayfield Pet Hospital we know our clients well. They’re like family to us. We love dealing with our clients and taking care of their animals. There’s nothing more satisfying than a dog or cat coming in sick and going home licking your face.” Senior Veterinarian Dr. Nancy Hankins agrees: “We have a family feel here. We don’t want someone to feel like they’re in a hospital.” Dr. Jacyln Olson adds: “I love the client interaction and taking care of the animals. We treat them like our own.”

Mayfield Pet Hospital offers a full range of veterinarian services including:

Wellness care for cats and dogs

October is Adopt a Dog Month, a meaningful time to highlight the many dogs waiting for loving homes. Adoption gives pets a second chance and can bring joy to families ready for a new companion.

Even if adoption is not possible right now, sharing adoptable pets or supporting shelters can still make a difference.

Pets may not be able to say when something feels wrong, but they often show it through small changes. A shift in appetite, energy, behavior, bathroom habits, movement, or mood can sometimes be a sign that they need extra attention.

Pet owners, tell us in the comments:
What change do you notice first when your pet isn’t feeling like themselves?

Is it less energy, not eating, hiding, acting clingy, bathroom changes, or something else?

Noticing these subtle signs early can help support your pet’s health, comfort, and overall well-being.
