August is Itchy Pet Awareness Month, and while an occasional scratch is normal, frequent itching could be your pet’s way of telling you something more is going on!

Keep an eye out for common signs of allergies, including:

🐾 Constant scratching or chewing
👅 Frequent paw licking
👂 Recurrent ear infections or head shaking
🔴 Red, irritated or inflamed skin
🦴 Hair loss or hot spots

Environmental allergies, fleas, food sensitivities, and other conditions can all leave pets feeling uncomfortable—and repeated scratching can sometimes lead to secondary skin and ear infections.

🐾 Lepto lives closer than you might think. 💧🌿

Every dog’s life changes—new neighborhoods, new parks, new walking routes, new adventures. But one thing that doesn’t change is the possibility of exposure to leptospirosis in everyday environments.

🦠 What is leptospirosis?
Lepto is a bacterial disease that dogs can pick up through contaminated water or soil, often from the urine of infected wildlife such as raccoons, rodents, and other animals. That means exposure can happen in your own backyard, on a neighborhood walk, at the park, or around puddles and standing water.

Leptospirosis can cause serious illness, including kidney and liver damage, and it’s also zoonotic, meaning it can spread from animals to people.

We had SO much fun at the Dipping Dogs event with Courageous Community Services this past Sunday🐾💦🐶

We got to meet SO MANY great dogs (and their people!), enjoy all the fun, and make some pretty adorable memories.

Kershaw Pie had a pretty big day — he went swimming for the very first time! 🥹💙 And then there was Stella… 😂 Apparently Kat’s girl decided the event was just going to be her new home because she did NOT want to leave! 🐕💦

Thank you to everyone at Courageous Community Services for putting together such a fun event for the dogs and the people who love them. We had a blast and are already looking forward to the next one!
