Sweater Weather Is Better Weather 🍂🐶❤️

Fall is here, and cooler temperatures mean a few seasonal changes for our pets, too! Keep your furry friends comfortable and safe with these simple fall tips:

🍂 Watch the temperature: Some pets may need an extra layer as temperatures drop, especially small, senior, or short-haired pets.

🐾 Check those paws: Leaves, debris, and outdoor irritants can collect between paw pads. Give paws a quick check after walks.

🎃 Be mindful of fall hazards: Keep pumpkins, seasonal decorations, and other potentially harmful items out of reach.

🦟 Keep up with preventatives: Fleas and ticks can remain active during cooler months, so continue your pet’s recommended parasite prevention.

🍁 Enjoy the season together: Take advantage of the cooler weather with walks, outdoor play, and plenty of time together! ❤️

Team Spotlight 🐾❤️

Get to know three members of the Matthews Animal Clinic team! From decades of veterinary experience to years of caring for patients and helping families at the front desk, each of these team members brings something special to MAC.

🐾 Dr. Glenn Baron, DVM
After beginning his veterinary career at Matthews Animal Clinic in 1977, Dr. Baron has returned to the practice part-time, bringing decades of experience and a special connection to the clinic.

🐾 Molly Morris, Receptionist
Molly joined MAC in May 2026 with more than a decade of experience in veterinary medicine. She loves helping clients and their pets, and when she’s not at the clinic, she enjoys roller skating, movies, family time, and her five cats!

🐾 Jordan Farry, Registered Veterinary Technician
Jordan has worked in animal-related roles since 2011 and became an RVT in 2022. Outside of MAC, she enjoys reading, Disney trips, and spending time with her 7-year-old hound mix, Gibbs.

We’re grateful to have Dr. Baron, Molly, and Jordan as part of our MAC family!

Holiday Closure Notice!

Please mark your calendars! Matthews Animal Clinic will be closed December 24, 25, and 26 for the Christmas holiday. We will reopen on Monday, December 28, during our regular business hours.

This year, we’ll be closed for additional days beyond Christmas Day, so we encourage you to plan ahead for any appointments, medication refills, or pet care needs before the holiday.

Whether it’s a quick walk around the neighborhood or a longer adventure, regular walks are a great way to support your dog’s physical health, mental stimulation, and overall happiness.

It's Deaf Dog Awareness Week: Did You Know? 🐾

Some dogs are born deaf, while others gradually lose their hearing as they age. Deaf dogs can still live happy, active lives and learn to communicate through hand signals, visual cues, and touch. 💙 Their world may sound a little different, but they still have plenty of love, personality, and plenty of tail wags to share! 🐶
