344.

As of this morning, we have 344 cats in our care.

That number includes Rex, a cat one of our staff members found outside our building at 5:30 this morning.

Even with some adoptions this past weekend, our situation is still dire.

We are upset that Rex was left outside our facility, but we're also incredibly thankful that he was left somewhere he could be found and helped. At the same time, all of the nearly 50 cats from the second hoarder situation are currently undergoing medical treatment.

We love sharing the happy moments at our shelter. We love showing you the goofy faces, the adoptions, the reunions, and all of the good things that happen here.

But right now, we also need to be honest about where we are.

344.

Of those 344 cats, 94 are currently available for adoption.

The rest are here for a variety of reasons. Some are still within their stray or microchip hold periods. Some are receiving medical care. Some are too young and need extra care and attention.

But every single one of them is depending on us.

344 lives are depending on us.

And more continue to come through our doors every single day.

To all of our adopters, fosters, volunteers, donors, and supporters: thank you ❤️.

You make a difference. You help us continue caring for these animals, even when things feel overwhelming.

But we also have to be honest about what we're facing.

And we're not alone. Shelters across the country are experiencing the same crisis. More animals are coming in, fewer kennels are available, and shelters are being pushed to their limits.

Right now, we need homes.

Our Adoption Center is open today from 12–7 PM, and our partner PetSmart locations also have cats available for adoption.

Every adoption makes a difference.

Every kennel that becomes available means we have room to help another cat who needs us.

We know some of our recent posts have been heavier than usual. We know we've been sharing more of the difficult side of sheltering animals.

We aren't doing that to scare you.

We're doing it because we believe our community deserves to know what we're facing.

And because we know that when we tell you we need help, you show up ❤️.

So we're asking you to show up for these cats.

This will always be our favorite way to start the week 🥹.

Happy to these pets and their new families 💕. We wish every single one of you nothing but the best, and we cannot wait to receive updates 🥰.

We love seeing pets go home with so many amazing families and their smiling faces. All of the long hours are worth it for the moment we get to watch that pet leave our facility and now have a home they can call their own ❤.

If there were an award for dogs with the best head tilts, Plum would surely be in the conversation 😍💕.

Sometimes when we want to get a dog's attention for pictures, we have to make some really strange noises. Though super strange for anyone to hear that isn't involved, when the dogs get interested in the noise and do head tilts like this, it's SO WORTH IT 🥰❤.

Plum is our beautiful three-month-old girl, and she's hoping today is the day she finds her furever family!

We are so proud of her. When she first came in, she was so shy, but now she's become so snuggly with our staff because she knows she is safe 🥹.

We're open from 12 to 5 pm today! Visit Plum and friends today!
