🐾 Fall Truffle Dog Foundations Registration Is Open! 🍄
If you've been thinking about training your dog to hunt truffles, this is the session I would not wait on.
Our Fall Complete Foundations Program begins with Orientation on September 2, and by November 18/19 your dog will have completed Foundations 1, 2 & 3 and be ready to begin putting those skills to work in the field — before Thanksgiving and with the full truffle season still ahead of you.
And this year, Foundations looks very different.
For many years, we offered Foundations 1 almost every month during the season, followed by separate Foundations 2 and 3 classes. It gave students lots of flexibility — but we also learned something.
When there was always “another class later,” it was really easy to take a break.
A month could turn into several months. Dogs forgot pieces of the game, handlers needed refreshers, and when students returned, we often spent valuable class time rebuilding skills they had already learned.
That wasn't giving our students — or their dogs — the best training experience we could provide.
So we changed it.
Foundations 1, 2 & 3 are now one complete training journey.
Our fall students will move together from the very beginning of odor training all the way through the skills they need to begin hunting in the field.
No stopping and restarting.
No hoping there is room in the next class.
No trying to remember where you left off three months ago.
Instead, you and your dog build week after week while the learning is fresh — and you get to do it with the same community of dog teams alongside you.
And I have spent a LOT of time rebuilding this program for you.
The classes have been rewritten, expanded and re-filmed, with more instruction and resources than we've ever offered before.
Your Complete Foundations Program includes:
🐾 Foundations 1, 2 & 3
🐾 Live instruction with me throughout the program
🐾 Our newly rebuilt Online Classroom
🐾 New and updated training videos
🐾 Step-by-step lessons and beautiful printable worksheets
🐾 Homework and video coaching
🐾 Fireside Chats for questions, troubleshooting and deeper learning
🐾 Bonus webinars included with the complete program at no additional cost
🐾 A community of dog teams progressing through the program together
And there is another big advantage to enrolling in the complete program.
The 2026 Complete Foundations Program is $987.
If you choose to purchase Foundations 1, 2 and 3 separately as space becomes available, each course is $399 — $1,197 for all three.
That's a $210 difference — enough to purchase your Deluxe Training Kit and still have money left over.
More importantly, purchasing the complete program reserves your place through all three levels in your chosen class section.
Individual Foundations 2 and 3 registrations will only be opened when space remains after our full-program students are enrolled.
And this fall, we are no longer offering Foundations every month the way we did in previous years.
There will be one Fall Complete Foundations Program from September through November, followed by our next Complete Foundations Program from January through March.
Both will teach the same program — but fall students have one wonderful advantage:
You finish just as truffle season is getting underway.
That means you have the winter ahead of you to practice, hunt, gain experience and let your dog's new skills become real-world skills.

This might be your someday. 🍄🐾
Come spend the fall with us. By Thanksgiving, you may be looking at the dog lying beside you very differently — because you'll know just what that nose can do.

Some brands passed and some brands failed: a new investigation by the Clean Label Project tested 79 of the most popular pet foods and found that dry kibble consistently had the highest levels of heavy metals, plastic-related chemicals, and acrylamide, a compound formed during high-heat processing.
Compared to fresh and frozen foods, kibble contained:

• ~21× more lead and mercury
• 13× more arsenic
• 6× more cadmium
• 24× more acrylamide, with one product testing at 780 ppb

Plastic-associated chemicals like BPA, BPS, and DEHP were also highest in dry food and lowest in fresh and frozen products.

Researchers note that because many dogs eat the same dry food every day for years, long-term exposure and accumulation of contaminants in organs like the liver and kidneys may contribute to chronic disease and potentially increase cancer risk.

Peer-reviewed study shows dogs given probiotics with the species Lactobacillus Rhamnosus early in life can have long-lasting protective effects against allergies, even years later & even after stopping them. Puppies given probiotics grew up to have milder skin (including ears) and allergy reactions, showing probiotics could offer long-term protection.

Want to explore a science-backed probiotic with a Lactobacillus Rhamnosus 🦠 option for your dog, comment BETTERBELLY and we’ll send a link your way.
