📚🐾 Continuing Education Day 🐾📚

TheraVET will be closed Friday, October 9 as our team attends a continuing education class.

We’re always looking for opportunities to learn, grow, and stay up to date on the latest advances in veterinary medicine—because the more we learn, the better care we can provide for your pets! ❤️

Thank you for your understanding while we take the day to expand our knowledge and bring that learning back to the clinic. If you need any medication refills please get them in before this day to ensure your pet does not go the weekend without!

We’ll see you when we reopen! 🐶🐱

🐾🌎 World Rabies Day — September 28th 🌎🐾

Today, Theravet is recognizing World Rabies Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness about rabies and the importance of preventing this deadly disease.

🦠 Rabies is a serious and almost always fatal viral disease that affects the nervous system of mammals—including our beloved pets and humans. It is most commonly spread through the bite of an infected animal.

The good news? Rabies is preventable. ❤️

💉 Keeping your pets up to date on their rabies vaccination is one of the simplest and most important things you can do to protect them, your family, and your community. Vaccination helps prevent your pet from contracting rabies and helps create a barrier between wildlife, pets, and people.

🐶🐱 Even pets who spend most—or all—of their time indoors should be vaccinated. Unexpected encounters with wildlife can happen, and keeping vaccinations current ensures your pet is protected when you least expect it.

Rabies vaccination also plays an important role in protecting our community by reducing the risk of this devastating disease spreading from animals to people.

A vaccinated pet is a protected pet! 🐾💙

Take a moment today to check your pet’s vaccine records and make sure their rabies vaccination is current. If you’re not sure, give us a call—we’re happy to help!

🌎 Together, we can help keep our pets, families, and community safe from rabies.

🐾 September is Animal Pain Awareness Month 🐾

Our pets can't tell us when something hurts, so it's important to recognize the subtle signs that they may be experiencing pain.

Pain can affect pets of all ages and may not always be obvious. If you notice changes in your pet's behavior or mobility, please don't assume it's just a normal part of aging.

🐶🐱 Early recognition and treatment can help improve your pet's comfort and quality of life.

🌞 Heat Alert for This Week! 🌞

The temperatures are climbing, and the heat can become dangerous for our furry family members in just a matter of minutes.

🐶🐱 Help keep your pets safe by:
💧 Providing plenty of fresh, cool water at all times.
🌅 Walking dogs early in the morning or later in the evening when it's cooler.
🌳 Making sure outdoor pets always have access to shade.
🔥 Avoiding hot pavement—it can burn paw pads! If it's too hot for your hand, it's too hot for their paws.
🚗 Never leaving pets in a parked car, even for a few minutes.
👀 Watching for signs of heatstroke, including excessive panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting, or collapse.

If you think your pet is suffering from heatstroke, move them to a cool area, offer cool (not ice-cold) water if they're alert, and contact your veterinarian immediately.

Stay cool, stay hydrated, and enjoy a safe week! ❤️🐾
