🌞 Heat Alert for This Week! 🌞

The temperatures are climbing, and the heat can become dangerous for our furry family members in just a matter of minutes.

🐶🐱 Help keep your pets safe by:
💧 Providing plenty of fresh, cool water at all times.
🌅 Walking dogs early in the morning or later in the evening when it's cooler.
🌳 Making sure outdoor pets always have access to shade.
🔥 Avoiding hot pavement—it can burn paw pads! If it's too hot for your hand, it's too hot for their paws.
🚗 Never leaving pets in a parked car, even for a few minutes.
👀 Watching for signs of heatstroke, including excessive panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting, or collapse.

If you think your pet is suffering from heatstroke, move them to a cool area, offer cool (not ice-cold) water if they're alert, and contact your veterinarian immediately.

Stay cool, stay hydrated, and enjoy a safe week! ❤️🐾

Our clinic will be closed June 15-17 while our team attends the Great Lakes Veterinary Conference. This valuable continuing education opportunity allows us to stay up to date on the latest advancements in veterinary medicine so we can continue providing the best possible care for your pets.

We appreciate your understanding and apologize for any inconvenience. If your pet experiences an emergency during this time, please contact either MSU or Greater Lansing Veterinary Center.

If you need a medication refill please get those in to us before this time to avoid any missed doses!

Emergencies can happen when we least expect them—make sure your pets are ready too!

Here are a few simple ways to stay prepared:
🐶 Keep an emergency kit with food, water, medications, and copies of medical records
🐱 Make sure your pet has proper ID (microchip + collar tag)
🐾 Have a plan for evacuation that includes pet-friendly locations
📋 Keep a recent photo of your pet in case you get separated
